My gay male friend looks like NPH or other heterosexual male. He hates PH, and said PH is what they call it "queene". I think screaming queen is a bit feminine but not exactly effeminate. Adam is embracing his feminine side with guyliner and make up, but to me he's very masculine. It doesn't really matter how we, as females, view Adam. It matters how he is viewed within his own community and within his own community he is seen as an "undesireable" representative (at least by other gay men). I post on another forum that is dominated by gay men (it's not a forum designed that way it just happens to be that demographic) and I can't count the number of times I've seen it said "I don't want Adam representing ME" or "Adam doesn't represent me". It's not about his music or who he is as a person but rather about what he represents to them in a narrow version of how they think society views gay men. hhmm... on the red bold comment, it's funny how they don't want to be represented by a very intelligent, successfull, very talented, funy, charming, humble young man. Someone who with his honesty and personality opens a lot of people minds about LGBT community. They keep their blinders on and refuse to see the big picture. Sad... very sad. |
