Vanda Vosvrdova @wandinka87 (Czech republic ) YESSS! Adam Lambert and BTIKM 3rd in TV Ocko chart (its 2nd week he is in it)  OMG! It's so great to see that Adam is doing so well in Czech Republic. Many Slovaks watch this channel and vote for him. It's beautiful to see the love they show to Adam. Central Europe is waiting for him to come. Of course, that your votes help Adam (but for the information of the people who don't approve international voting links because they consider it to be unfair) I want to let you know that he was very successful there with WWFM asnd IIHY in time when I didn't have a clue about the existence this place. To be fair to Steven, he said one of the best two Idols ever. Which left it open for everyone to interpret their favorite as the other of the two. But Jennifer said the best singer she's heard in 50 years. Really?!!!! : It's laughable! When they throw in comment like 'great singer' is really really embrassing! to me. These kids are young, talented, can sing and they're good but a great singer..a BIG NO! that's why they're in this singing competition show. Adam was on this same "singing competition show" would you say he is a "good but not great singer" simply because he was on the show? It's difficult if not impossible to compare Adam and Kelly. Kelly released her 5th album and it opened with numbers of around 165K I believe. It stayed on the BB200 top 40 for 26 weeks and has sold 766K in the U.S. If Adam can do even half that I'll be thrilled. Sophomore albums are notoriously tricky. I'm hoping more for longevity than big opening numbers. The album needs legs and the only thing that will give it that are good singles and lots of radio play. |

Is anybody else put off by comments like,"I am pretty sure he/she is gay"? Is there some sort of checklist of the requirements for which we can judge and then label people? It sounds like, "if he/she acts ______way then he/she must be_____." For me, if you don't catch them in the act, or hear it from their lips then I think assuming you know is perpetuating stereotyping.

I'm thinking Adam may have been trying to say that AI is supposed to be a singing competition, not that it IS. Cause it ain't. Certainly not this season....I mean they were all pretty good but the judges need their heads checked! |

I see your point, but I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing to speculate that someone is gay, as long as you're not saying it as a way to put that person down. I mean, let's be realistic--there are characteristics that we associate with being gay. Would anyone ever doubt that Cheeks is gay? "He pings my gaydar" is not saying something negative against someone; it's just an observation, and shouldn't be much different than saying "She seems shy" or "He strikes me as being very ambitious" about someone we don't know personally. |
