Got home just a little while ago and am listening on headphones and managed to catch up on last night's thread as it was mostly link requests and incoherent flailing. Just about to start on today's thread but wanted to comment. First Happy Birthday to dera, 2t2tag, lambertratliff, spiffysmileNow, for my tale of woe, the stream must have happened like right after I went to bed so when I got up this morning I was already way behind and didn't even have time to download and listen before work. I sent off my quick request for a link and figured I'd download on my phone. Tried to get it started on my way in to work but signal is not steady and only got 1 song. 2nd song just would not download. I'd have signal on the phone but when I'd start to load the page it would tell me there was no data signal. So I figured I'd turn the phone off then on again because maybe it just needed to reset. When it came on there was a notice of an update for the phone so I let it update then I couldn't get in to my phone!!!! It was telling me my sim card had been removed so I needed to enter my username and password but it wouldn't accept it. Ended up having to stop at the Verizon store after my 1st client and they had to reset my phone. So now I have to set everything up all over again. To make matters worse I could not log in to ATOP to access the link. I could type in my user name and password but the login button didn't respond. At this point I was ready to scream. So I set up Tweetdeck so I can send out SOS on twitter. Sent general tweet but nobody answered so I sent direct to SusieFierce (I think or Jazz) and got back a link but she said it might not work and sure enough it was one that just showed a download folder but no individual songs and nothing worked so in desperation I tried again to login to ATOP and FINALLY it worked. By the time I got the songs actually downloaded and could start listening it was after noon. But it was worth EVERY SINGLE BIT OF AGGRAVATION because the album is an absolute MASTERPIECE. Now I'm off to try and catch up on today's thread before I have to go to bed. OH! Before I run off, just wanted to give you a hug, rihannsu!!!Your trying-to-hear-the-music marathon was hysterical.

Finally able to listen to the album. Worth the wait!! Love, love, the upbeat songs so much! Cannot even choose a favorite. So much more in each song compared to the snippets. The dark songs are just as good, surprising for me since I usually love an upbeat tempo more. Running was a total surprise! Have it on repeat. Totally in love with Adam's voice.
Not concerned with numbers or roll out or anything else now. I am just going to enjoy my time with the music!

My friends loved Trespassing The UK is ready to be taken by storm RCA please thanks bye (Got some disappointment that we were promised dubstep and only got one breakdown on Cuckoo though, and someone had to walk the plank for saying Runnin' was just ok) Time for the new Marina & The Diamonds album now... but any music is gonna seem inferior to Trespassing from now on. Adam fucking Lambert you ruined music forever! Well done, new AFL fans :D They aren't new fans, they all at least enjoyed FYE, but I think they might be that little bit closer to Glambert conversion Good post but please don't say I was insulted. They were only trying to help, they just missed the point a bit. You're a sweetie, you know that? I don't like people falling out over misunderstandings

I'm posting this here because I know a couple of the commenters go here. To those leaving comments on The Village Voice article saying "Why does it matter if he's gay?" Firstly, do you even know what The Village Voice is? Secondly, that 5-page article off the back of the release of his album is major promo in NYC. Please stop telling publications with large gay readerships that it doesn't matter if Adam is gay. It DOES matter to those of us in the gay community. A huge amount as it happens. To have an out mainstream artist like him is incredibly important and to have a publication like the Village Voice on side is a major coup. Those comments you people leave places are insulting beyond belief to both us and to Adam. I imagine this will be the last comment I leave before I get banned for posting this but hopefully some of you will think before you post in future. I realize this does not apply to everyone here by all means by the way but there are people here are repeat offenders on this front. It matters A LOT that Adam is gay and proud and OUT! Bravo to you for saying this!! Deep respect and thanks to Frecklesexual for taking the time to help others understand how their words may be received by many in the gay community. ... Huge kudos to all willing to reach across the divide and explain rather than giving up in anger and resentment and building the walls higher. Huge kudos to those willing to listen and really hear. Here's to the removal of the stones of ignorance and judgement. Here's to tearing the walls down.

Thanks to Reihmer I was able to download and listen to the full songs. Thanks to Adam I'm now in Nirvana. My favorites are Shady, Running, Kickin' In and Pop That Lock. I think I love Chokehold just as much but I can't stop listening to those four to make that determination. (Shoot! Crap! I've totally forgotten Trespassing and Cuckoo which I loved early on! Damn Adam for making this so difficult!) I listened to Underneath just to get the full version and if it didn't hurt so much I'd have it on repeat. It does hurt though and since I'm not a masochist I'll leave it to people who have wonderful lives and can revel in the poignant painful beauty of it without wanting to throw themselves into the microwave and nuke themselves into oblivion. Burritos are not completely without their issues. But now having said that, I said early on that this song was one I was most anxious to hear even though I knew it would be heart-wrenching. Turns out it was all I hoped (and feared) it would be. Honestly, people, when he says" baby, better watch your step, never mind what's on the left, you're gonna see things you might not want to see" think Westboro, think haters, think mean, spiteful, ignorant people who let their own insecurities turn them into mean, spiteful bullies. That's his truth, that's what he's dealing with, and I hate that for him, hurt for him because of it. And hurt for me too sometimes and since I'm a jester burrito I'm going to leave this subject right now. On a much, much lighter note, I think I saw a new poster Tamale Pie was it? Don't know and too far gone to look back but I felt a kindred spirit. My Taco Bell welcomes you.

70 pages?!?!?!?!?! Y'all have a lot of feelings, eh? But omgomgomgomgomg me toooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! I'm working and only have a second during my lunch break to stop by but the songs are running ( runnin runnin runnin) through my head and so I end up looking like a total lunatic but who cares when the music is such perfection and we are the luckiest fans in the world????!!!! I see people talking a lot about Underneath and that song kills me for sure, but there is something about Runnin that just grabs me by the heart. I'm a total lover of angst so you can imagine my feelings at the dark, angsty beginning and the driving, tribal, ominous beat. Like something out of a dark Western. And those first lyrics: "Steel to my trembling lips. How did the night ever get like this? One shot and..." ... as you listen you can imagine this song going to the darkest place possible. A man at the end and at the edge. With purposefully enigmatic lyrics that lead you to think he might be about to destroy himself violently. Or at least, listening further, destroying himself one drop at a time. Instead, we get a cry of desperate desire to emerge into whatever is beyond the darkness. And even though the singer is at the absolute bottom, Adam makes you believe that he can emerge. He's talking himself out of the dark and into the light. The drumbeat of doom turns into a rhythm of defiance and you can literally see Adam running away from the past and into a better future. It totally takes my breath away and blows my mind like no other song on this album. Only Adam can take a ballad of self-destruction and give it an arc that ends it in a place of empowerment. OMG I worship this album!!!!!!!!!!!!! . Thank you! I LOVE this interpretation!!! My new favorite song on this album of gems.
