Okay, "Runnin" is seriously freaking me out here. Such a luscious low register. A true, rich baritone sound. Wonderful to listen to. But then, he keeps going up and up. He flips into his blend of chest and head voice and produces a completely different color to his voice. Hearing the baritone sound, if he were a normal earthling, I would expect him to be pushing hard to hit those higher notes, but, no. It's effortless and crystal clear. At about 2:45 he sings that baritone tone and then jumps up an octave and half, then two octaves above for "I know what I'm after". The two phrases sound like two completely different vocalists. I'd love to play this for a singer totally unfamiliar with Adam. I bet they would think it was a "duet." They would be blown away when I told them (after the first listen thru) that all the lead and harmonies were sung by the same guy. Theoretically, I have known Adam could do this. But hearing it in one song is a totally different reality. DAMN! Oh, Cassie - you have just made all my hopes come true! I love Adam's lower register voice, (love his upper notes too, of course, but we hear them more!) and was SO hoping to hear some on the album, but hadn't caught any on the snippets. I have decided to wait until my box set arrives (I got my email saying it was on the way last Thursday!) so I could have the CD in my hot little hand before I listened, and I am now sitting here hugging myself in anticipation. Thank you so much for this wonderful "Christmas Eve" anticipation!! You and I are probably the only two that haven't listened to the album yet! I decided to wait for my box set which I hope I can pick up today from the office and I left my better headphones there. But I am feeling very, very happy reading everybody's posts and squeeing, and dying, and crying with all of you!!! Please don't stop!!!!!

Gelly, that article is amazing. A must read. And from the VIllage Voice! Very cool.
Quote: I offer all of this data mostly as an observation. A No. 1 album by Adam Lambert would make him not only the first openly gay artist to top the Billboard 200 but also the first openly gay American to top either of Billboard's two flagship charts. (Past Hot 100 chart-toppers by out gay or bisexual artists include British stars Elton John and David Bowie, and Right Said Fred's Richard Fairbrass.)
This would be amazing. Oh please please please universe. (and RCA)
