5.8.12 Trespass streams, Happy Adam Lambert Day!!

I've been thinking about that stream in Trespassing, from point 1, which is Trespassing, to the last one, point 15, Nirvana. T being the fiercest, the edgiest, the most extrovert, in your face ... of the songs, which is exactly how the general audience perceives Adam... while Nirvana is the most hidden, the furthest from the reality, piece of his being.

I like your framing. I guess middle America - the general audience - do see him as edgy and boundary crossing.

Perhaps many of them simply cannot hold the paradox that he could be that and also incredibly loving. They have a fixed idea of love as mainstream, polite, clean-cut.

Nirvana is magick. And Adam is magick. Its a very spiritual tantric (as someone said) song.

The journey through the core of the album, funky, dancey fun, gently slips into something I find the greatest asset of this album: the essence of Adam, his innermost feelings, be they love, despair, joy, sorrow...

Well Im going to suggest that while it slips into his vulnerable side being fierce and bolshy and confident is also very much a genuine part of him. Very much part of his essence. Thats the beauty of Adam Lambert - his soul is two parts fierce and two parts tender/vulnerable.

regarding both his relationship(s) and , which is also very important, the distorted perception of himself he believes general audience has, or parts of it... It really bothers him, it's so obvious in the album, and he pointed that out in several interviews.

You are right bb. Youve highlighted this to me now. It does seem to bother him. And when i think about what drives him: connection, self-expression, self-revealing i think yeah no wonder it bothers him. He wants to be Seen.

This shows how deeply emotional he is, and how that fierce track 1 image is a much smaller part of him than the part illustrated and displayed in a larger chunk of the 'dark' side. I'm not saying 'fierce' Adam is just a show, no, but it is just a tip... and underneath is the most tender man there is.

What i said above. I think the fierce goes to the core. Its not an outside edge. Its a fire in his belly.

and you know what? it makes him even more loving. Fierce, wolf-y, loyal, tender, nurturing love. Just your dream man, really. Thats all.

I'm starting to resent that qualification, 'dark', although it came from him... Because, although it contains, among others, the emotions of the 'negative' spectre, I cannot feel or think anything other than 'light' when I hear it. This abum illuminates many corners of his being, I won't say all just because he has many, many albums to create yet:)


Ah, I like the paradox of light and dark. I feel Adam is onto one of the great wisdoms of life, the ability to hold the double edged sword of life. I love it when he goes a bit dark on stage and sexually hard and dominant and "Imma fuck you like this" - its all play but it shows he's in touch with his darker side - whether its primal aggression or vulnerable fear.

I trust his ability to handle the dark because he is in touch with the love in his core - the light you speak of.

He is able to ravish someone to God, rather than force himself on them. He is able to protect and defend in the name of love, rather than turn the other cheek.

I think he has the power to illuminate the Dark.
