It has moved some. But the album may be seeing more of a bump just we can't tell because the only thing in front of it is another AI product which would also be seeing a bump. He did pass Tenacious D again though so definitely an increase.

midnight PST overall 134 NCOE pop 49 NCOE NEEDED TO BE in at least Top 20 134 is not good. David Cooks single reached the 50's what is going on?????? possibly buying the whole album? I did a quick check and it seems Donna Summer is #1 with other albums in the top 20 position. Will he lose out to SOmmer in hitting tte #1 position??? number people pls read the tea leaves for me and give me an explanation, How will this affect his spins for Top 40? pd's noticing this slump?

So, should we be seeing more iTunes movement for NCOE? Is it too soon? Maybe people are buying the album (which is great) but I hope the single can at least crack the top 100. The product placement aspect of the huge, giant Trespassing album cover at the end of Adam's performance on Idol was fantastic. And certainly could have helped sell many an album. And if Idol viewers went to iTunes, and the Adam Lambert banner was jumping out at the top of the page, an album sale is very likely. Especially if they sampled. Or had even read a review or two and now saw, yes, this is great. However, a lot of people, who don't obsessively follow Adam's career - millions last night were hearing NCOE for the first time - may have thought the big sign meant Trespassing was also the name of the song, and bought it. Combined with the Neptunes/Pharrell fan support that may have helped the Trespassing single be higher in the charts, non-obsessed people just clicked. Also, didn't NCOE rise something like 70 places last night? Was it even in the Top 200? It went from 175 to now 131 during my noticing. 44 places is a bounce. Especially, considering tributes to Ms. Summer purchases.

I agree that people watching Idol would have checked out Trespassing since it was displayed prominently rather than the single. People would have had to search itunes for NCOE but Trespassing is right there easy to find. Also, NCOE can't possibly be compared to a song like Cook's that was just released with no album.

No wank here - just curious. I did expect NCOE to jump much higher given Cook's leap (went as high as #46 I think) after his performance. Not sure what your last sentence means. Why can't it be compared? Do you mean because ppl would buy the album & not just the single?
I think even KA's single went higher after his performance but he too had no album at that point. So perhaps it was confusing to ppl and I think you made a good point about the prominent Trespassing display.
Hey - RCA was quoted as saying they want a #1 album and it will be that or very close. So that's the focus right now I'm sure.

Even with no fanfare it went higher on it's debut than Cook's with an Idol performance for its debut. Wasn't Kris's TVOL also performed on its debut week. I agree that getting Trespassing to #1 seems to be the priority for RCA.

I understand & I agree. All fans had already bought NCOE so any sales would be newbies. Also - I think the "free" DL of NCOE with the album DL cut into single sales initially.
