5.15.12 TRESPASSING RELEASE DAY!

(Jealous) CONGRATS to MWP and anyone else getting to go to IHeart perfromance!!

Scroll Warning - this is of limited interest and not intended to interrupt a great day of squee and timely flail . But this made me happy so it's my own dull version of flail!

Just popping in to say that I've been eager/nervous to hear what (if anything) Maura Johnston would say about Trespassing. She wrote a couple of pieces last year that referenced the state of pop that went on to become touchstones for other critics (she was ahead of the curve in calling out some things) and, IMO, became one of the most internally influential members of the new crop of music critics. (I hope she also writes a review that is this enthusiastic.)

My long-winded pt is that while her comments (and hopefully positive review) don't mean much/anything to the general public or directly influence sales, they do represent another important step in the process of both eroding Idol stigma and securing Adam's place as an artist who is taken seriously by music wonks. (And since Maura was at Idolator before being offered the VV gig - she esp gets what that transition means.)

P.S. After the ridiculous EW 'review' and ensuing debate, I almost posted a piece Maura wrote re Madonna. She panned the new album in the Voice, but at the same time wrote (for their blog) what I thought was a terrific post sharply calling out other reviewers for their misogynistic language/pov in trashing of Madonna herself.

P.P.S. And for those with lingering bad memories connected to VV. I think you are most likely thinking of Michael M*sto's snarking about Adam - Musto is a society (gossip) columnist, famously petty, and friend of Aaron H*nkle.

Well, since adamrocks spilled that there are 2 more pictures in the sleeves of the vinyl in the box sex, guess I am going to have to order another. I'll just start asking that my check be forwarded to AO to pay for my obsession.
