Just for a flail-worthy stat -- Adam's 80 Metacritic score which will change as more reviews come out....
Only 54 out of 751 Pop albums have ever gotten a higher score!!!!!!

For months now, maybe 6 months or so, at least back in November, there was heavy buzz going on about this album, among the industry, trickling down to consumers. Instead of doing the standard promo that most artists do, it seems that they were letting the industry hear, and have word of mouth spread, and let that be kind of the ultimate in promoting the album. It seems that that has worked, and is working big time, especially when he doesn't have a strong radio presence at the moment. . In one of the print media, forgot which one (so many 8-) ), RCA/DMG were quite aware of Adam's lack of strong and steady music presence for the past 2 years on radio/public's consciousness, and were strategizing on the 'reintroduction' of Adam Lambert. Yes, radio is important; however, they (including Adam) took note of how difficult it has been to get the 'right' music played. Adam is such a great visual PR magnet, both in print and live. He is also a very sophisticated interviewee and has grown more confident and more self-aware. The Billboard interview was wonderful. I especially am glad he got his iPod to look up the music (Asteroids Galaxy Tour exchange was fab) to show his musical interests, knowledge, uniqueness, and depth. It was a total win. Respect earned, so to speak. I believe RCA knows what a breakthrough Trespassing can be for Adam, if given the right push and promotion. They also know that they can depend on Adam's talent to promote it. Let's hope the stars are aligned for them. Ever wonder why Adam has been wearing Stars... 8-)

I think Maerz's review should not have counted - it was so ridiculously ungrounded and full of personal attack. Then the score of actual credible critics would have been even higher! I recently read somewhere that she got fired from Rolling Stone.

www.thewrap.com/music/column-post/adam-lambert-cd-review-confessional-aspirations-get-subsumed-dance-pop-trespassing-40006Adam Lambert CD Review: 'Trespassing' Shows Us the True, Naked AdamWell, the upcoming movie adaptation of “Fifty Shades of Grey” has its theme song, if it wants one. “Chokehold,” a provocative track from Adam Lambert’s second album, sounds tailor-made for the S&M occasion: “Sheets are in a knot … I kinda like the pain … I keep running away from you, but I can’t stop breaking the chains.” Madam Ana, he’s Adam. Lambert may play the submissive in “Chokehold,” but through the rest of “Trespassing,” he’s trying to assert himself in a way that he didn’t on his debut album. That first effort came out a little too soon after his second-place “American Idol” finish for comfort, so “Trespassing” is supposed to be the one where enough time was taken to show us the true Adam, as naked as his biblical namesake. more Another one who really likes Rock Adam and insists that is who Adam is. The writer is clearly not a fan of electronic music. Yeah, I have to say I don't "get" these kinds of reviews (for anybody, not just for Adam). I loved rock growing up. My favorite artists were Bruce Springsteen and Bob Seger, and old acts like Elvis and The Beatles. I love a lot of country and folk as well. But I never connected with any artist emotionally since my high school years, until Adam. I also remember listening to electronic music when it was new (Tomita). Electronic sounds can be trite just as rock can be trite; they can also add layers of sound that are very cool. And it's not like they tore apart and restitched Adam's vocals electronically on this record, except for Pop That Lock. Music is music and magic is magic. Adam takes the stage like a superhero no matter what instruments are backing him up. Just don't get what difference it makes. I can see a fan having strong preferences about what types of music we like -- after all we only have so many hours in the day -- but it has always seemed strange to me for a critic.
