hmmm...I think that lyric is alluding to the fact that he's letting someone inside of him, underneath his skin. jmo Perhaps, but in the double meaning world of Adam, I think exactly what the person said in the comment. So open to interpretation:-) I think it is a very brave lyric because of the layers of meaning. It would be funny in a song like Cuckoo or Shady, but in a vulnerable song like Underneath it just added more wow for me. |

hmmm...I think that lyric is alluding to the fact that he's letting someone inside of him, underneath his skin. jmo yes, but even my daughter (who loves Underneath and hits repeat at least three times before moving on) said "oh that sounds dirty" the first time she listened to the song. and the lyric is "such a beautiful release, you inside of me" just for accuracy. One can see this is a number of ways.. Adam is good at double and triple meanings. To me It's carrying you in my heart.. for someone else it could be sexual.. |

The song is about openness and vulnerability. To show it you has to let someone be inside of you. Or something like that. It has nothing to do with being a top IMHO. |

For me personally it would be "carrying you in my heart" and think that most casual listeners would think the same. When I listen to the lyrics through what I may perceive as Adam's vantage I lean toward sexual interpretation - and well, I don't think that needs explaining:-) frecklesexual: While Adam has said he is a top I think he has said somewhere in an interview he has been open to the opposite. And we don't know what Sauli's feeling are on this. I will stop now on this subject cuz I feel like I am getting to invasive into their personal relationship and I know nothing... |

NPR ATC  ;D ;D ;D So excited!!! Doesn't it feel, media wise, that this time around more and more people not only want Adam to have recognition and success but also are willing to give him a deeper level of respect? Anther two loves colliding that has been giving me a little thrill this week is seeing my other guy, Willie Nelson, next to Adam in so many reviews. He's held a special place in my heart forever. They are both rebels with hearts of gold and voices of angels. When you put the album titles together Trespassing Heroes, it sums them up nicely. Yes, I realize I'm being doubly crazy here.  Wow, even Gawker is getting on the Adam train. Nice. Interesting read. |

I just want to add that it is my understanding that most gay guys are a lot more "versatile" than just saying top/bottom.
That said, I don't think that is what the song Underneath is about, other than the idea that making yourself vulnerable is a beautiful release, anyway you look at it -- emotional, sexual, the soul.
