I mentioned this in yesterday's thread, but one suggestion, if you are planning to buy more physical copies at a big box store today, consider going to Best Buy rather than Target or Walmart. The reason is:
a) everyone who has posted that I've read so far has reported than Best Buy has a lot of copies on the shelves but that the other two are either selling out or not being stocked as much.
b) so leave those last few CDs at Walmart/Target for casual browsers and help make a dent in the stack at Best Buy.

I was able to gift a single via iTunes to a fan in a country that isn't on the AO list – Croatia. It worked fine. I only needed her email address. I also gifted to an alternate email to see how it worked. It was very easy too. Like rabbitrabbit said, I don't think it matters what country it's being sent to, but what country it was purchased in. But apparently it doesn't count as a sale until they download. From Schufly: Oops!! Wrong link!! lockerz.com/s/210210050

Don't get why there are these inconsistencies

Why is it so important for Adam to have number 1 album in iTunes if only purchases done in the US count? Why so limited take of the album sales? Isn't he an international star and all the album selling around the world is telling about his popularity? I'm all for it that he gets a mention of having number 1 album, but the basis for this (only US sales and iTunes) is just beyond me. Interntional sales is as important as other sales. But all this conversation about making Trespassing #1 on iTunes US because it's important for the US market. It gets people & media attention and most importantly I think it gets US radio PDs attention. We really want them to play Adam's songs in the radio and don't think they can ignore the #1 song on iTunes (if he can stay at the top long enough). It means people like it and buy it.

Don't get why there are these inconsistencies I was just going to say that. Sugaree tried to gift me that 99cent gaga download as it was not available to me but she couldn't...she bought it and sent me the link but I could not download it. I also could not purchase it myself even though I use an american credit card and paypal debits that american card [holdover from when I lived in the us and from the US account I maintain so that I don't have to pay to change currency when I use ebay and US online stores]. Frustrating now as I realize that my purchases [which I can ill afford and only did to support Adam] do not actually count!! Furthermore, have only actually received the AO one...and that was 2 days after the release date. I should just have waited and downloaded from iTunes...faster and easier and cheaper!! duh.....next time... eta...good job I can't afford the box sex because if I had ordered that on and then it didn't count, I would have climbed up one side of them and down the other...with some 'claws' on!! : : :-/

Don't get why there are these inconsistencies Seriously?? That's weird. My Croatian friend said she had tried a bunch of different things to buy in her country and I simply took her email address and went to the gifting link and she got it in seconds. (Maybe Croatia doesn't have an iTunes store?) Perhaps since Canada does, it wants domain over their purchases? But still, that doesn't make sense either as it would still get credit for the sale. Who cares where it ends up being downloaded? That's really bizarre. ??? ETA: Going to attempt to gift to a Canadian friend and see what message I get. BRB ... IDK, I just gifted Melisende in Vancouver via iTunes and it went right through. No error messages and nothing about international email addresses. I'll text her now to make sure she got it and downloads. (She's a night owl, so may not be up yet.)
