I'm trying to think of a way to say this delicately. If you are planning on going to one of these radio concerts be aware that 80% of the crowd is made up of females under the age of 25. They predominetaly wear jeans and t-shirts. None wear fan t-shirts except for a small amount of tweens (a very small amount) might wear The Wanted t-shirts or something. It's not cool to wear fan t-shirts in this age group. Nothing makes a singer look way uncool than to have a contingent of mother/grandmothers decked out in fan t-shirts and black and yellow neon showing up at a radio concert. I can't tell you how many shades of wrong that is. If you are out of your 20s then please blend. PD's are also noting this which is so not good.
I get that your advice is well-intentioned, and you want radio program directors to see that Adam fans represent a desirable market. Ok, but -- so we can make the most favorable impression possible, maybe you would prefer that anyone over 29 should stay home? Or if we do go to a show, we should be sure to have liposuction, plastic surgery, and a salon session first so our gray hair and wrinkles don't give away our ages?
Older Adam fans shouldn't be made to feel that our dollars and credit cards are welcome, but any other shows of support for him are uncool. Would I attend an Adam concert decked out like a black and gold Mardi Gras float? Probably not (though you wouldn't want to see how I dress for Steelers game days.) But if I show up to see Adam wearing black jeans and a black shirt, with maybe a tasteful yellow necklace, it ain't Trespassin'.

I think people of any age should be able to wear whatever they like without being shamed about it. A little common sense would be nice sometimes. I do wish fans would keep in mind the reputation that goes along with guys from Idol. These radio shows are great opportunities for gaining younger, new fans and for Adam to impress some of the PDs from the biggest Pop stations in the country. Personally, I try to put Adam first in a situation like these. He is out there working his ass off, the least I can do is try to dress like the natives (lol). Yep, I agree with this. I find it interesting that fans always complaining about how radio and media always talking about Adam's older fans, then they go and do something in a way to make them standout, to showcase their selves, that will make sure that's all that they'll talk about is the older fans. I know we want equality, but sometimes, depending on the situation, a little understanding and compromising, can go a long way. And fans telling media, radio people etc., that Adam doesn't have any younger fans isn't helping, just saying...

Yeh, blend. j/s
Reminds me of a kid getting his first pair of eye glasses. He was not having any part of it. The Grandmother kept telling him how handsome he looked. The guy who was fitting my glasses mutters, "Yeh, that should clench it, he'll never wear them now."
I do realize that Adam is super inclusionary but we're all trying to get the PD's to refresh their view on his demographic. Eye on the prize.
eta: OT Kris Allen on Live With Kelly tomorrow.

Just curious, Marie, who in their right mind would be telling media or radio people that Adam doesn't have younger fans?? Is this actually happening? Why would anyone do this?
