This week last year this was the top 2: CHART DATE: 05/23/2011 1 1 ADELE XL/COLUMBIA 136,585 -13% 21 -- 2 SEETHER WIND-UP 57,400 -- HOLDING ONTO STRINGS BETTER LEFT The number one DEBUT album only sold 57,400. So I think there is no shame to Adam's numbers because he is sure to beat that. This is a good point and one that the FOOs are missing. If you took Adele out of the equation, there would have been 8 other weeks this year (2012) where the #1 album sold between 70-80K or less. It's not that Adam has the lowest selling #1, it's the fact that Adele is skewing all the stats for the last year. exactly right: starting January 2011 These are the number 1 albums leading up to Adele's release: Chart date - Artist - sales 1/22/11 - Taylor Swift - 52K 1/29/11 - cake - 44K <----- debut 2/5/11 - Decemberists - 91K <----- debut 2/12/11 - Amos Lee - 40K <----- debut 2/19/11 Nicki Minaj - 45K 2/26/11 - Now 37 - 151K 3/5/11 - Justin Bieber - 161K this is what the top 10 looked like the week Adele debuted 1. ADELE – 21 (351,649 // DEBUT) 2. JUSTIN BIEBER – NEVER SAY NEVER-REMIXES (101,811 // 165,353 // 267,341) 3. MUMFORD & SONS – SIGH NO MORE (71,370 //132,793 // 1,019,201) 4. VARIOUS ARTISTS – NOW 37 (58,247 // 94,549 // 303,622) 5. JUSTIN BIEBER – MY WORLD 2.0 (42,324 // 54,270 // 2,530,815) 6. BRUNO MARS – DOO – WOPS & HOOLIGANS (36,796 // 60,933 // 764,111) 7. EMINEM – RECOVERY (33,639 // 60,570 // 3,667,525) 8. RIHANNA – LOUD (33,316 // 45,191 // 1,009,584) 9. NICKI MINAJ – PINK FRIDAY (32,865 // 45,914 // 1,159,547) 10. LADY ANTEBELLUM - NEED YOU NOW (27,991 // 85,243 // 3,316,655) #10 was 28K and there were no other debuts in the top 10.

Cassie, this tweet made me think of you

RT Tenor220: I'm immensely jealous of Adam Lambert's ease in the upper register.

... and hundred's of young people, many without a change of clothes, will be gifted Adam Lambert's beautiful music because of wonderful fans like those who "live" here :-) And a JC Penny gift card, in honor of JCP's support of Ellen DeGeneres, could help out with some changes of clothes for these kids ... j/s

ryanseacrest.com/2012/05/21/watch-adam-lamberts-thrilling-teaser-for-never-close-our-eyes-video/Watch Adam Lambert’s Thrilling Teaser for ‘Never Close Our Eyes’ By Susan Peters Posted on May 21, 2012 at 4:38 PM Never one to disappoint when it comes to production, Adam Lambert delivers once again in a suspense filled ‘taster’ of his forthcoming music video. In a new 17-second teaser for his latest single “Never Close Our Eyes”, Lambert eerily flashes in and out of focus among a blur of pills, security cameras, and wide eyes. Channeling the feel of a high-security institution, the teaser flashes quickly from scene to scene, ending with Lambert alone in a dark, isolated room. “Never Close Our Eyes“ is the second single off of Trespassing, Lambert’s sophomore album released May 15. Determined to push Trespassing to #1, Lambert teamed up with Bruno Mars, who penned the track, and A-list producer Dr.Luke. Watch the teaser below. (Links to the video)
