From Q3
Today has been one of the best days in the 3+ years I have been following Adam. Not my opinion. It is based on facts:
1. Adam will be singing in f'ing Royal Albert Hall.
2. Trespassing will be #1 in sales by all the best evidence.
3. We have another new promo concert which means a future add for Adam.
4. Adam was a hit at the RS weekly lunch.
5. NCOE got 4 HAC adds today
6. Read #2 again.
Not only that but the cherry on top, is my son finally acknowledges that his mother is right and has totally become a "bert"!
SCROLL ALERT - LONG POST BELOW
My 21 yr. old, soon to be getting married in 2 weeks completely validated our devotion!!!! YEAH!!
My son is an amazing singer and like Adam is appreciative of real vocal talent. He sat stunned with me when Adam sang the burning sexy "Ring of Fire" on AI. He was my date for the Des Moines concert. So knowing this, I gifted TP to him last Thursday when I went to his fiancee's shower. It was a casual exchange.
I talked to him yesterday in Chicago when we went to visit our other college age son and at that time, he said that he really liked the second half especially Underneath. He loved the lyric about the depth of his sin. He said that he also liked one that started with a B.... Broken English??? No, not that one. "Better than I know myself?" Yeah, yeah that one!! You haven't heard that on the radio before??? (Really on the inside, I am saying. Shit...I need to turn in my stan card. My own son didn't know about BTIKM???) I quickly told him to look up the video. He would really like it. I then asked why he didn't like the first half, he said it all pretty much sounded the same! That was it. We let the subject drop. I was happy about his verdict, but what about Shady, Cuckoo or Runnin?????
So tonight... I just got off the phone with him and he started by saying, "Mom, I have a confession." (OMG, I'm thinking, he's calling off the wedding!!!! NO!) He then continues.." I just wanted you to know, that I linked Adam Lambert's new album on my Facebook. It is really a great album and I want all my friends to know." He then started talking about the cohesiveness of the album and how he likes how it all flowed together like an A and B side of a vinyl album and with all the great messages in his songs, he wanted everyone to know how great the album is. He then went on to say that he was a true fan of Adam's now. He said that when he told his fiance, she queried, "Weren't you a fan before?" He replied, " Yeah, But my mom was a little over the top about how great he was and I didn't want to go that nutsy. (Wait...I'm not nutsy!! I'm passionate!) But, now I am a fan. I'm not a GLAMbert like you, Mom, but Adam's Awesome! " I gave the phone back to his dad who had been impatiently distracting me from one of the most important conversations of my life to talk to his son again.
Like Adam's response to WWFM at the last radio concert. I become misty at my son's validation. I birthed that boy!!!
I'm so proud! ;D
