Watched the videos from last night. Gotta say the backup singing at the beginning of Naked Love in the TALC video was PAINFUL. Seriously, I don't know anything about sound mix, but the gals are starting to tick me off. (Doesn't sound as bad on jessala's clips so maybe it's where you sit ) Glad not just me - they sound sharp and off key and not in a harmony way...

AfterEltonþ@AfterElton Congrats to @adamlambert for hitting #1 on Billboard chart and making #LGBT history! ow.ly/1MDrDM Number One With A Bullet: Adam Lambert Makes Music Historywww.afterelton.com/music/2012/05/adam-lambert-trespassing-number-oneFans of Adam Lambert have been waiting on pins and needles studded gloves and platform shoes for the last week, wondering if his dazzling second album would sell enough copies to top the Billboard Album Chart (something his first album For Your Entertainment missed, having peaked at #3). Well, Glamberts can rejoice, because Trespassing is officially the #1 album in the country. His PR reps were the first to break the happy news this morning: more

Thanks I understand it a little better. I guess I'm having a problem why it's hard to get the mix right. I'm guessing that the sound guy gets lists from the performers requesting their mixes. Is the disconnect when the bands hook their equipment up to the venue's system? All equipment and systems being different, now I'm guessing that a sound check is all about the ear monitors and not the venue speakers. So, since "sound" seems to be a problem everywhere, it must not be totally the "sound guy".
Read more: adamtopia.com/index.cgi?board=daily&action=display&thread=896&page=65#ixzz1vhPX7AmAI don't have much time, as I am at work, but let me defend the sound guys just a little bit. This is in no way a knock on Adam, as he seems to be one of the nicer performers out there when it comes to his crew, but the problems he has with his ear monitors is far from being all the sound guys fault. You will notice that on the GNL Tour, he carried the same monitor engineer with him for I believe the whole tour, and still had his share of problems, and this is with the same equipment and people night after night. Having the same equipment and people night after night is the best way to assure you are going to have a consistent experience, but certainly not a guarantee. So going into these one off festivals he is doing now, where he is performing 5 or 6 songs, along with a dozen other acts opens up a whole different set of challenges to say the least. I spent the first 10 years of my 25 years as an audio engineer, doing these large arena type act after act festivals, and let me tell you it is no party and very challenging. You will notice that Adam spends about 5 minutes right before he goes on stage having the band go through their instruments, and getting those levels set to what he needs and wants to hear in his ear monitors. In most of these situations because of the number of acts and limited time, this may be all the sound checking or adjusting time he will get for that day. Plus he is most likely seeing this new sound engineer for the first time, who has no idea what Adam's particularities are over any of the other acts that are there for that day. Add to that when Brian or Tommy change a sound on their instruments, and that sound may change in level because Brian or Tommy may not have their particular settings leveled out from one to the other, this changes not only for the sound going into Adam's ears, but also to the sound the people are hearing in the audience. Because there is probably limited budgets, Adam is not bringing with him his own sound engineer that may know his music and particularities, so when these nuances change the sound engineer of the day may not know that it has changed to something it should not be, and may not make a change because he doesn't know it needs to be changed. My point is, unless Adam is bringing with him someone that is familiar with his music and needs, you are going to get what you get, because there is just not enough individual time and/or experience with Adam over any of the other bands that day to make it perfect. Many acts bring at least one sound engineer with them, that can at least translate their artists needs and wants to the sound guy of the day, so that sound guy of the day doesn't have to guess what the hell the artist is gesturing to him to turn up or down. Adam is not doing this, so from my perspective, I personally have little sympathy for Adam not getting his sound right. It is a trade off of the money cost of personelle vs getting the sound experience he may want.

It's my principle to not say negative things about anyone, but I feel pretty much the same about the ladies' singing. I have cringed a lot during the past few days. I didn't want to, but I am a trained singer so this definitely doesn't help. I hope they work on this issue. To keep it positive when we are going to get the official BB chart news!?

But isn't it better to watch on AOL directly because counts to Billboard ranking?
