Just for fun, I went and found my e-mail from that day that I first saw Adam.
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 2009 (the day everything changed, though I didn't know it yet)
(sharing AMA video with sister - subject line was "Glambert")
For some reason, I kind of like Glambert, even though he's awful. I guess it's just a hoot to see someone with that much brass.

As for Glambert, anybody with enough chutzpah to simulate getting a bl*wj*b on national network television...well, what can I say? I can't help but have at least a little admiration, even if his act IS awful.

Adam appears only once more in my e-mail for the rest of 2009, when I praised"Glambert" and Gaga for kicking open a few doors.
[ETA: On December 20 I downloaded For Your Entertainment from Amazon; the first time I ever downloaded anything, but I was too embarassed to buy the CD.]
[ETA: I remember being disappointed that he was cancelled from New Year's Rockin' Eve. I felt sorry for him. I didn't think the way he was being treated was right.]

Then, suddenly, there is an escalation. On January 4, 2010, there is an e-mail entitled "Re: good interview and slideshow," replying to my sis:
"Thanks for the Glambert interview and slideshow. I am looking forward to watching some more of his Gridlock concert later today if I get the chance."
It looks like I started "stanning" quite a bit by the end of 1/10, and was totally abandoned to my fate by 4/10. I didn't stop calling him "Glambert" until 7/10, though. LOL.

This looks really interesting - hope they have other good interviewees It's awesome that they chose Adam for the premiere episode! I wonder what else Adam has done lately that we are yet to discover. He didn't do this now. We know about it since Adam was in NYC and we had pictures from NYC February but we didn't know "when" .  |

I don't think Adam's voice has ever been so off key before in his life. If he had sounded better, this might have been a great performance. He has matured so much over the last two years. I would like to see him do this again sounding like he does now. But not one single news report said anything about the vocal. Why? Because it was bad for Adam. But compared to everyone else that night (except Kelly) it was great! I watched this hours after it was on and after I read several boards. I was scared to turn my DVR on, and when I did my first thought was, "That's not that bad!" Not up to par, for Adam, but not as bad as the on line freak out made it, IMO. And I had to rewind the ninja roll over and over to figure out if it was a fall or choreographed!  Nope, 2 1/2 years and I still don't want to watch it again. The vocals were so not Adam's usual and I brings back the heart racing feeling I had when it was over. I don't care if I EVAH see/hear it again. EMAs, watched 100 times, AMAs once IS enough. |

I don't care if Adam dropped his drawers on stage as long as that voice is there for all to hear. That was the most shocking thing to happen during that performance at the AMA's. Lousy vocal.

Don't wanna see this name here. ETA: I have never been able to bring myself to watch the AMAs after the crappy ustream some of us watched that night. I felt so sick from the thoughts that possibly everything and everyone was turning against him after that night. But now I am like - another racy performance? hell yeah, and I am sure the vocals will be stellar. :D |
