NO EXCUSES....TODAY IS "ADD" DAY. to make an impact two addes??????????? and one Canada (YEAH) love it BUT WHERE IS Q102 and hopefully Z100 DIdn't he do promo big time for both stations??? YES??????????? I'm disgusted...need a drink I'm trying to stay optimistic here...but it's hard. It doesn't help that I've never believed in this song. When I listen to the album, I always skip this song. If that makes me a bad fan, then so be it. I've never liked the song. If radio people truly "picked" this song, I think we would see more support. I think they just saw "written by Bruno Mars" and said we'll take that one without giving it much thought. I've watched the music vid today a grand total of twice. My true dislike for the song is making me steer clear of the vid. There also seems to be a problem with timing with his single releases. With both singles, BTIKM and NCOE, they release the single digitally way ahead of the radio impact date and musc vid. Single goes up only so far on iTunes initially due to no airplay and no exposure of music vid. Then sales plummet. Other artists seem to have the release, impact date and vid release all within 2 weeks to maximize the boost in sales/exposure. CHR radio has known about this impact date for over a month and they're not exactly jumping on it. It was crawling slowly up on CHR and had already started dropping on Mediabase before the impact date. Stations don't seem to jump on songs that have already started dropping and is so far down on iTunes in sales. This song may do okay on HAC but I just don't see CHR showing much support other than the stations he did concerts for. But stations in other parts of the country are just not touching this so far. Please I am just curious here...... What makes you think your personal single preference would have done differently? Let's be real, if radio does not play this song based on everything Adam has done i.e. played their gigs, a number 1 album with reasonable sales without radio support, no other song of his would fare better. I know some people don't like viewing Adam problem this way, but I personally think he is been persecuted becos of his sexuality or haven't you noticed the push radio gives to any artist they are bent on breaking? Take a look at the Pop chart and you see tons of artists with lesser buzz and poor iTunes sales despite the audience impression on more than one format, yet radio keeps spinning. Case in point Rita Ora for example. See Stefano also. |

BUT Q102 ONLY PLAYS NCOE when we voted for it...It is not in rotation and is played at night Who T F hears it at 10 - 10:30 PM?????????????not me..tv on not radio.
BUT BOSTON - no add???????what a f n slap in the face
and as far as not liking NOCE this song is good and better than the shit I've been hearing so this song is a no brainer for adds.
I'm just fuming at this.. He breaks his ass AND kisses ass to appease the PD"s and right now, it seems they're turning their cheeks/
If some of us are upset, can you imagine how he must feel?????????????????????
Maybe eventually they will add but the impact day was today and he needs spins on TP 40 ASAP none of this dribble of #2 to #14 spins a day...

I haven't posted in a really long time, delurking out of frustration. IMO Adam did Q102's Springleball as payback for BTIKM, it had nothing to do with NCOE. Q was the only big market top 40 station to add BTIKM I believe, so they did RCA a favor by adding that song and it flopped. I listen to Q102 all day and NCOE fits in perfectly with their playlist, in fact I think it's better than most of the songs on radio right now. It's the fist single from Adam that I really love. I didn't think BTIKM was a good radio song and wasn't too surprised that it didn't do well. But this song is perfect, so this time it's not the song imo. Adam and RCA obviously are doing everything they can to get him radio play, if this song doesn't work, I really don't know what one will. That is entirely possible. That's what happened with WWFM and the KISS LA's Wango tango. Thye never added IIHY, even tho it was the new single. I PMd Q3 and requested her presence. |

gbam, don't think it has anything to do with his sexuality. Not from these big city stations. They played WWFM and IIHY a lot! Even Z100. I have no idea what is going on with Q and Boston, especially because of that radio site ad that said they added.
Very confused right now.

Boston KISS has no adds this week. :( ETA: Q102 just reported and did NOT add! WTF?!!!! Why does the RCA ad say they added early when they haven't even added at all. ( I may be officially starting to worry.) :-/ Wait! Aren't Q102 and KISS 108 the two stations listed on FMQB as stations who have added? Didn't they play NCOE last week? Q102 played it 16 times, right? Didn't Adam do radio concerts for these stations? Q3: Have the rules of radio promo/radio concerts officially been suspended now, because that is how it is looking?! >:( No, except when the artist is named Adam. I see artists with less than half his buzz and worse sounding songs being played on mainstream radio all the time. JayZ only had to go to Z100 & KTU to debut his new signed artist's song - Rita Ora and Z100 and other stations jumped on it right away. It's still not selling well despite its AI from both CHR and Rythm, yet the spins continue because they have to break her in the US like the broke JessieJ and other imported British acts. The US radio PDs are really power drunk and just pathetic |

In don't think it has anything to do with his sexuality, either, but they clearly are in no hurry to play the song. And even Chicago KISS, which did add, never really spun, and seems to be dropping it.
NCOE should be a good radio song. And a good CHR song. The only one I think that would possibly do better is Naked Love, because it opens with a great hook.
Kathleen, Q102 is spinning, but apparently only as part of a some fan voting thing. Kind of the way WTMX only plays the song during U-Mix-It. What Adam needs is to have a big station giving significant spins during the day to drive the spin count up----like Z100 nearly single-handedly got WWFM off to a good start.

Too many music critics have questioned the logic in releasing the two weakest songs on the album as singles. A lot of fans were never on board with this song, not just me. The song may do okay on HAC, but I don't see it going anywhere on CHR. I don't see this as anything to do with his sexuality at this point. There may always be a exception or two out there, but overall that is not the problem. I do think one thing that greatly hurts Adam, esp at these CHR radio appearances are the number of much older fans lining up at the front of the stage and being front and center of what many in radio perceive his core audience to consist of. They know those women are not listening to their stations, bottom line. That's not to say that younger fans do not enjoy Adam or his music. But the younger fans are not the ones drawing so much attention to themselves. I apologize if I have offended anyone here, I'm older myself. But I'm also realistic at how we are perceived by many. And Adam has brought up himself "demographics" too many times in interviews talking about problems with radio for that NOT to mean something. |
