Ok, now after posting that I heard NCOE on Kelly, I'll tell ya why I was kind of po'ed at her this AM. They were talking about Idol & Joshua L is on this AM to sing. She said that often times it wasn't the winner that went on to do great stuff. And, then went on to mention Jennifer, Daughtry, and CA..............but NO Adam. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!! I felt like tweeting her, but thought that would be kind of stupid so I didn't...lol!!
IKR! Then when they went to their in box I was thinking I should send an e-mail and let them know about Trespassing being #1. I didn't, of course, but it's come back to haunt me a few times this a.m. Why isn't his name rolling off their tongue? I thought Kelly was a fan :(

Loved the interview we just listened to live. What's the name of the interviewer with the milk chocolate voice? Adam again spoke of his laundry list of faults, and was asked to talk about it. Is it just me or is Adam very good at ducking that question? He says he is letting us trespass and learn more about what goes on underneath, but, in reality, he gives us very few details. He says he is his own worst critic. Regarding what? What does he doubt about himself? I am not saying that we fans deserve to know this side of Adam. We don't. But, I have to smile when Adam says he is opening up. Like him saying he has no filter. In actuality, he has a very good filter, and he is very good about guarding his privacy and letting us see only what he wants us to see. He did say one thing I have long suspected. that he has to work very hard at the process of being positive. He does it well, and that is his reputation: always positive and upbeat. A ray of sunshine. I always figured that for someone as complex and smart as Adam, that HAD to sometimes be a front. An intentional act. He confirmed it in this interview. Want to listen about 10 more times! He has talked about those things in little drips and drabs here and there. He has talked about his insecurities about his looks, skin and weight issues, most notably to Larry Flick where he talked about being fat in high school and having really bad skin also once he tweeted sharing those things and asking what his fans hang ups are. He has talked a little here and there about being very critical of himself in his own head both in terms of his performances and in terms of dealing with his sexuality even in the positive environment he came out of he talked about a lot of his fears being "in his head" as opposed to direct bullying which he didn't get much of partly because of his size as he was a pretty big boy. He has talked about second guessing himself and being overly analytical and praised Pharrell for showing him how important sticking with your instincts are and not over thinking things. He does generally duck that kind of thing when asked about it directly but often in answering other questions he will give little insights into some of his insecurities. I think he avoids it on direct questioning because it can seem a little like whining or complaining if he gets in to it like that. I'm enjoying watching Adam grow out of the limitations you get from doing plays all your life AND feeling judged for every word and move when you're being yourself. It's not easy to be yourself on stage when your every fiber says follow the script. And if you have the least bit of uncertainly with your audience, banter and being uninhibited performing is almost impossible, unless you're a true uninhibited person, IMO. Adam has the gift of gab but he also has had to work very hard staying on message and being accepted as familiar and not scary (LMAO, really) to casual observers in the media and shows. He comes from family, friends and places that don't look for cool but look for kind, interesting, creative, fun, uninhibited, fierce (very different from cool) and explosive joy. This is definitely not the world of radio and popular culture. I avoid getting into his head in writing but he's said, and I can see it every time...that he feels safe with Glamberts. Yes Adam, and thank you so much for Fantasy Springs lol. So when I watch this era now, the first shows (Chicago ?) he was a lil controlled (for lack of a better term) ....then last weekend in the sweltering heat he was much more loose even the "got the vapors" type of typical Adam-not-on-stage- ad lib and flail....made me SO happy. And of course, talking about the sound problems we saw him with no cover. KEEP WERQING ADAM, everybody will relate to the real person as he emerges on stage more and more. A couple more things he's said from the start were "I know I'm ridiculous" (BOO), and of late, "I'm not cool enough" or "I'm dorky". My crystal ball tells me that pretty soon, he's going to comfortably and intuitively put alot less mental emphasis on the coolness factor. And if he's not the next coming of male pop star, so be it. He'll be over it by then. My money's on next coming of male pop star, facilitated by his new confidence from his great personal and professional achievements. I'm still LMAO at pics of him picking away and his little home sound board thingy and excited over being in the first professional studio that will remain nameless ....compared to now Exec Producing BB #1 and being close friends with industry insiders who love him for who he is.

Re the closing of the Olympics -- is there a list anywhere of who is signed on for the closing ceremonies so far. It would be interesting to see if everyone is British. I see Queen doing We Are the Champions with a medley of British singers -- probably after the individual singers have a spot of their own. We all know Britain has a wealth of talent and it definately is their moment to shine as one nation.
