I just posted my re-cap in the 5-26-12 TIC FM Spring Fling Concert Thread I wrote this so I could remember a very special day. just sharing. Re-cap- of Adam Lambert concert Six Flags New England TIC FM
Do I have everyone’s tickets? Which camera should I take? How much cash will I need? Is there gas in the car? Is all this angst going to be worth it or will I have a heart attack before I even get there? This is how I thought I might end up trying to get ready …CRAZYFinally in the car…two 14 year olds (a bit reluctant granddaughter and her happy friend) and my Adam-go-to-concert friend, Viv. Arriving at Park…not necessarily problems, but venue situations to over come. Two things would have helped make attending this concert easier: rest of story at: adamtopia.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=daily&thread=904&page=28

So for while today I was thinking that we should put together a list of like, totally awesome teen-sounding twitter names (portlandiarox, omghatemath, likebitchplz, 1directionrlz, etc.) and adopt these identities to tweet requests to these ever-so-fragile PDs so that they could feel good about their demographics. And then I realized the Catch 22...if I remember correctly, being cool means not being enthusiastic about ANYTHING. So if you're actually requesting a song from a radio station...doesn't that automatically negate the coolinity potential? So many questions... Lol! You'd get a much better response than AdamsGrannies or Cougar4Adam or 80AndProud or OlderThanAdamsMom. These PD's are forever sucking up to the under 30 crowd. If I see another tweet to Beeber or 1D fans by Q102 I'll throw my monitor out the window : For most Top 40 Radio stations the target audience is 15-25 -- and the Bieber fans are ignored because they are too young. It is not a bunch of PDs who do not want older or younger listeners -- it is how radio is organized to sell ads. The goal of CHR has always been to play mainstream hits and stations base their playlists on what is selling. People keep focusing on fan age being a barrier. But IMHO that is not the big challenge for Adam -- he needs to prove he has mainstream appeal. And with the notable exception of WWFM, he has not done that yet. It is not that Adam is gay, it is that he is an alternative pop artist. Trespassing in not mainstream pop. I am happy with Adam being an alt pop artist -- and some alt pop artists make it on Mainstream Top 40 Radio -- Gaga did it, for example. I know that Adam wants to have global pop hits and I hope he gets them. But I am more interested in him producing quality music like Trespassing (album). In any case, I refuse to use Top 40 Radio rank as a measure of success -- because if it is the measure, then Katy Perry is the greatest artist ever and she is not. (And I am a KP fan, just recognize that this is not life-changing music.) Here is an interesting article about Top 40 Radio from 2010 -- worth a read. www.medialifemagazine.com/artman2/publish/Radio_46/Behind-the-rise-and-fall-of-Top-40-radio.asp

I Loved that Adam admitted he was Cynical in the Q interview.
I love me some fine cynicism. He is the Real Deal.

I was googling for an Adam red head pic and this came up. Not a new pic, but new to me. You see just a little ginger peeking out on his forehead. Even as Adam has gotten older, it still looks to be quite red. I really would like to see him once with his natural color. I know, not gonna happen. But if some techie could talk a sample of that shade of red in this pic, and apply it to a current Adam pic thru photoshop, that would be interesting. Don't know how to make the pic bigger here, but if you click on the image you get a very large pic.

I would have never considered Adele's current music pop. I can't believe that youngsters even like it that much. I know all my old lady friends love her, but my young sons are meh. So what are her demographics, really? I can visualize her easily on PBS, so I just don't get it. I never cared much for RITD until I saw a group in Iraq on a military base cover it. Someone Like You is a different story. That song gets me. I doubt that I would ever go to a concert or buy her music though. I respect and admire her, though. So anyway, I think the music on Trespassing is more "poppy" than any of her stuff.
