When I read review comments like.. "The stronger, second half of the album is steeped in love balladry, but of a realistic, very adult bent." It makes me wonder what their background is. I think the first half is easily (if not stronger) than the second half.
I actually like both halves equally. Well, maybe I love the second half a little more. And wow I LOVE this guy's take on the album. He actually has some orignal thoughts -- and opinions that differ from the majority of reviews we've seen. And he's a good writer. That's always a biggie for me.I really liked this review too. It was thoughtful and I appreciate that. Personally, though, I'm all about the light side. I think the first 7 songs are amazing. On the dark side, I love Chokehold and Nirvana the most. Then Take Back and Runnin. I have to confess that I often don't make it to the dark side though. I like to dance !

I'm actually thrilled to have someone recognize the adult, sophisticated bent in the ballads, because so many reviewers have seemed to celebrate the first half of Adam's album, and dismissed or downplayed the second half. IMO I can respect that... I also happy that reviews are recognizing a more sophisticated pop. I just don't think that he appreciates the type of music in the first half of the album which clouds his overall opinion. *shrug* I went back and took a look at his reviews and there were few album reviews. He reviewed Madonna and gave her 1/2 star less for her album which says it all for me. I think he would have been happy with an album of mid-tempos and ballads. Its well written at least.

And I love that someone recognizes the beautiful second half of Trespassing. It IS adult music and has such depth. No bubble-gum pop here. And it is so obvious that this reviewer really LISTENED to the album. Anyway - this is so ridiculous, but I miss Adam so much when I know he is out of the country. Silly huh. : 8-)

And of course, when I read a thought-provoking review like the one above, I am forced-- FORCED-- to listen to certain tracks again. And again.
And again.

So, I went to put my lawn care check in the coffee can out by the garage this a.m. and found a perfectly constructed bird's nest with 5 beautiful little blue eggs inside the can! OMG. Why does that delight me so much?! Sorry, can't relate it to Adam -- wait, the eggs were close to the colour of his irises?!

Oh SWEEETTT!! I was expecting a random vid of Queen singing THe Game. LOL this works too. He looked so nervous not knowing which songs were going to pop up. So glad the interviewer didn't screw with him.
