DSTV: South Africa Interview | Article & Soundcloud DSTV South Africa Interview Adam Lambert By Jason Von Berg | Tue, 12 Jun 2012 www.dstv.com/News/Interview-Adam-Lambert/98341
American Idol has launched the careers of some of music’s most popular contemporary acts. Jennifer Hudson didn’t win the show, in spite of this she has since gone on to win a Grammy as well as an Academy Award. Chris Daughtry formed the band Daughtry, who've toured the world performing to sold out crowds.
And then there’s Adam Lambert. The star became a household name after appearing on the hit show in 2009. He, like Hudson and Daughtry, didn’t win the show, but has since gone on to became a global icon. His debut album sold over 190 000 copies in its first week of release. The album also scored him a Grammy nomination and the opportunity to headline his own tour.
After all the success of his debut, the star took some time out to focus on his new offering. The result is Trespassing, a twelve track album. He enlisted the help of Pharrell Williams of N.E.R.D fame and Australian star Sam Sparro on several tracks. His efforts clearly paid off as the album reached the number one spot in its first week of release, making this his first number one album.
DStv.com’s Jason Von Berg caught up with Lambert who was in London to find out more about the album. Have a listen to the interview below:

Press Party UK: Full Interview | Article & Soundcloud Pressparty meets Adam Lambert (part 1) Tuesday, June 12, 2012 4:27pm | by London Newsdesk www.pressparty.com/pg/newsdesk/adamlambert/view/48588/
With the UK release of his second album 'Trespassing' on the horizon, Pressparty were honoured to sit down for a chat with superstar Adam Lambert, only days after the singer touched down in London, to discover about the journey the record has taken him on so far.
'Trespassing' is Lambert's sophomore offering and has attracted serious attention around the globe, as well as rave reviews from some of the most well-respected publications in the world. It will officially be released in the UK on July 2.
The most notable milestone he has achieved with this fantastic new body of work is a coveted No.1 position on the Billboard 200 chart in America, and when asked how it felt to be the first openly gay male to have debuted at the top spot on that particular chart, Lambert expressed his pride at the impressive feat:
"I didn’t know that it hadn’t been reached before so I was kind of surprised, but I felt honoured by that. I think it’s a big deal in a way. It’s a big deal about something that shouldn’t be a big deal, which is funny. I think that we’re slowly but surely – we’re progressing in the States, we’re moving towards a more equal kind of post-mentality, but it’s going to take a minute."
He explained that while the subject of sexuality seems to be the focus point for many journalists he speaks to, he doesn't feel as though it's a big deal at all, because he is very open and accepted who he was from a young age:
"I never really thought much about it after (being) a teenager, after kind of dealing with coming out. Ever since then I’ve been open and it’s not really been a big part of my life. It’s not like a focus for me, I don’t think about being gay and I don’t always talk about being gay. But becoming a celebrity with my success on ‘Idol’ and releasing an album and doing interviews, all of a sudden it’s become one of the most favourite things journalists like to talk about."
Referring to how the media likes to centre interviews around his sexuality, the 'Never Close Our Eyes' sensation added that instead of getting irritated with the lack of focus on his music, he has learned to use the opportunity to promote a positive message:
"I really had to make my peace with how big of a deal it is to them and look at it as a great opportunity to set an example of comfort and honesty and pride, you know?"
The next part of Pressparty's insightful interview with the modern icon and GRAMMY nominee is on its way shortly with audio.

TELE 2 Norway: Adam Will Be Queen's New Freddie Mercury | Article & YouTube TV2 Norway VIDEO Adam Lambert will be the new pop group Queen's Freddie Mercury - Yes, I'll probably put my own stamp on the songs. www.tv2.no/underholdning/gkn/adam-lambert-skal-bli-popgruppen-queens-nye-freddie-mercury-3805341.html
The pop star Adam Lambert gays fill the big shoes this summer.
The former "Idol"-namely, the participant will take the place of the late legend Freddie Mercury of Queen - the band will hold concerts in London this summer.
Honorable mission
Lambert and Queen started preparations Tuesday, and it was a curious artist who spoke about the honor.
- I am very excited and I think it's going to be fun. We rehearsed a lot together, so we're not going to rush us rather take the time to help so this is good. I feel really honored to do this, think to sing this music with Queen, says Lambert.
Video Interview with Adam Lambert and samples of Queen's greatest hits, you can see in the video at the top of the case.
BIG SHOES: Freddie Mercury was an icon of pop star heaven, but died of AIDS in 1991. Now, Adam Lambert will take over as frontman of the legendary band during a series of concerts in London this summer.
We have much work ahead of us
The pop star, whose daily lives in Los Angeles, thinks it is great to work with the other members of the iconic pop group.
- Roger (Taylor) and Brian (May) is fabulous, and I felt very comfortable when we performed together at the European Music Awards ceremony earlier this year. They are warm and generous people, and we have much work ahead of us, and it's going to be wild, says Lambert.
Fight on homsebar
Lambert, who earlier this year received much attention for a public fight with her boyfriend on a homsebar in Finland seems to take the job of Queen very seriously.
- "Bohemian Rhapsody" is going to be cool to do. It was actually the song I sang at the audition for "Idol." It will be fun to do it with them on stage. Part of the song is pretty extravagant, so it's going to be exciting. Another favorite is "Another One Bites The Dust."
About the fight with his girlfriend, the Finnish 'Big Brother' winner Sauli Koskinen, said Lambert following:
- We were in the wrong place at the wrong time - that is what is picked up by the tabloid newspapers - not the good moments. The best thing we did was to take responsibility for what we did. We asked for forgiveness and got on, said the American Idol star to "Good evening, Norway" during an interview earlier this year.
Will do Queen songs tasty
The artist is hoping for a warm reception by old and new Queen fans.
- I hope people come to sing with. That I love. and it's cool if they sing the song as they know it from the studio recording.
- Want to put your own stamp on the songs?
- Yes, I'll probably put my own stamp on the songs, within reasonable limits. And I do it tastefully. The important thing is to baklansere between doing my own version, but also show respect for the original material without being false.

POPLEDGE ADAM LAMBERT CROWNED ‘MUSICS SEXIEST MAN’! Posted on June 12, 2012 popledge.co.uk/2012/06/12/adam-lambert-crowned-musics-sexiest-man/
BILLBOARD GETS SEXSI!
We like polls like this, they are a lot of fun and also reveals to us who has the most dedicated fans.
We already announced that Britney Spears has claimed the Sexiest Woman in Music title but who claimed the Male vote?
More than 600,000 votes were cast in the Billboard poll and with 26% of the vote ADAM LAMBERT topped the public vote. It was still a good win but Spears netted an INCREDIBLE 45% of the vote as we mentioned in this post:
popledge.co.uk/2012/06/12/britney-spears-catch-up-x-factor-loreal-blackout-and-twister-commercial/
Next up on the list of sexiest men was Adam Levine (12%), Justin Bieber (10%), and Enrique Iglesias (9.75%). Tokyo Hotel’s Bill Kaulitz, Bruno Mars, Jon Bon Jovi, Chris Brown, Usher and Drake also made the top 10. A write-in entry, Jo Calderone, would have placed in the top 10 were in not for the fact that Jo is actually Lady Gaga’s alter ego and doesn’t qualify for sexiest man (boooo!)
The ladies in line behind Britney were Lady Gaga, with 12% of the vote, and Beyonce, with 8%. Rihanna, Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, Madonna and Jennifer Lopez, with less than 20 votes pushing Nicki Minaj ahead of Taylor Swift for No. 9.

Check out this fan-made video below above to understand why Adam gets both men and women hot under the collar…I WORK OUT!

Lyndsey Parker: Adam's "Ring of Fire" Is 10 Years Of Idol #1 Yahoo! Music Reality Rocks Happy 10th Birthday, ‘American Idol’! By Lyndsey Parker | Reality Rocks – Mon, Jun 11, 2012 4:04 PM EDT music.yahoo.com/blogs/reality-rocks/happy-10th-birthday-american-idol-200430411.html
Ten years ago this week, a little television show called "American Idol" (perhaps you've heard of it?) premiered on Fox. Since then, the "AI" empire has spawned dozens of chart-making pop stars, hundreds of watercooler moments, millions in record sales, and has taken up probably thousands of hours of my life. So thanks, Fox!
[PHOTOS: "American Idol" Through The Years]
To celebrate the show's big double-digit birthday, I'm dusting off and updating my list of my top 10 "Idol" performances ever. It was INCREDIBLY difficult to pick only 10 performances out of 11 seasons, so I have many honorable mentions as well. But finally, I came up with a top 10 list I can live with. Which performances are on your list? Feel free to nominate your favorites on the message board below...
1) Adam Lambert - "Ring Of Fire" This was probably the most polarizing performance on "Idol," and definitely the most exciting. Love him or hate him, Adam knew how to get people's attention, sometimes get people downright angry, and make those who were faint of heart and/or feeble of mind squirm in their support hose--all very good things in the world of rock and pop. On this fateful night, Adam took a strong stance, making it clear that he planned to stay true to himself, even if that meant freaking out Randy Travis with his goth manicure, or refusing to "go country" on Opry Night (though I think black-clad country maverick Johnny Cash would have appreciated this remake). Many Glambert performances--"Mad World," "Tracks Of My Tears," "Whole Lotta Love"--could've made this list, but "Ring Of Fire" is the one that really put him on the glittery map.
VERY HONORABLE MENTIONS: (more Idol performances listed ) ...and EVERYTHING Adam Lambert ever did
