This is totally right. I've been saying that ever since the whole bruhaha about the Details shoot (and the attendant OUT fiasco). THIS is what seems so groundbreaking (wonderfully groundbreaking) about the Adam-as-sex-symbol phenomenon. Especially as he's not only openly gay, but also genderbending and flamboyant and not "straight acting" (whatever the fuck that means)--in other words, Adam's sexuality is a big part of what makes him so sexy. Sexy is sexy indeed. Thanks.

Jazzhands, you are funny and irreverent. But so is Adam. I think he would enjoy your macro. I believe that Adam loves the women in his life and women in general, he is just not sexually attracted to women in a way that makes him want to choose a woman to partner with and share his bed. But insofar that he is able to share his loving sexy self with the world, he is quite sensual in his approach with both sexes, as long as the clothing stays on.
I am seeing more men who are loving Adam and that makes me smile.
I am also appreciating his acceptance of his own political clout in the LBGTQ community. When he speaks up and out and uses his truth to spread a simple message, millions hear him now. More power to him.
ETA: waving at you mwp! And yay susiefierce for getting into on Twitter about this very interesting topic of Adam's gender bending fluidity. It is one of the things I love about him the most!

I looove the men in my life and am somewhat gregarious and flirtatious, but I do not wish to sleep with them naked. But love in the heart place transcends all of that and I think Adam really gets that. In the first RS interview, Vanessa G. describes Adam as a rare find in pop music, someone who embodies the free hippie spirit of love and music, or something to that effect. He also is honest and direct, which I think keeps himself free of auric ugliness tht surrounds people who are not, so his energy signature is particularly bright and expansive. Being in the same space with Adam is heady stuff, no matter what your sex or sexual orientation may be. |
