Just popping in to give what may not be a popular opinion, but knowing that Adam is respected and comfortable in the company of people like Brian, Roger, Elton, Nile is so much more impressive to me than a # 1 record on the radio. I don't need any lectures on the facts of his musical longevity life, etc, I'm just stating what I feel with all of my being. To me, being iconic isn't Bieber or Usher or Carrie, it is having a voice that knocks the socks off other musicians and having a rep for being a really good guy. I understand what you are saying and I agree to a point, but to my mind, equally important is having your music heard by the multitudes, which requires #1 records, which creates great PR and appearances and awards, and a presence on the radio. To become iconic, one must be heard. If a tree falls in the forest..... 8-) |
