ITA. Screw this yellow and black dress code business. When I go to the next concert I am going to make darn sure I have on my best bra. I think this should be his signature song his concerts--everyone (who wants to) takes off their tops and swings them back and forth to NL. Wouldn't that be an awesome statement of understanding his messages?!! And yes, this is about as far from my nature as can be--but I would totally do it! I sincerely hope you're joking.... Why? Seriously?? These people voted for this guy?! OMG! Unless he is hiding a part of his voice, there is no way he could do justice to the Queen songs. Geez, he sounds like Herman and the Hermits! He is British though, so I will take it as a positive that Adam came in second. Obviously, Glamberst did not know about or vote in this poll!  |

Oh crap! It sounds like Maxwell isn't on tonight! Sometimes they don't do the 10 at 10 if he's off! :( Oh, and that One Direction song is really crap! But it is One fucking Direction, and the girls love crap, because they are cute. On of them is suspected of being gay. Only one??? lol tbh, as much as it may seem frustrating that such a group is getting all this attention and money so easily while Adam is fighting so much harder, I have to say that I cannot be bothered. If you love their singing, chances are you are not going to enjoy the Adam Lambert fare, no matter what. At least not yet. At age 13 I probably would not have understood Adam either, if I had come across him at that time of my life. At 15 or 16, maybe yes. Adam makes pop music for adults (and older teens). The good news is that Adam one does not outgrow, just because one turns 20-something. 1D you do outgrow and the band outgrows its own act as they get older too. So looking with envy at their path is in my mind just a waste of time. It will never be Adam's path, so why bother. I just accept it that a ton of money flows there and I believe Adam needs to continue making followers on the path that he is on. Can he with individual songs try to make smart choices? Of course. But Adam is a pioneer who stakes out new territory, the boy band path is well trodden and for others to comfortably travel on. It is what it is. But Adam does have lots of supporters. Both a committed fan base and he has support in other places too. Incidentally, I wanted to ask: Do we actually have a thread where we collect complementary quotes and statements made by famous people or industry people about Adam? We all know what Meatloaf, Brian May, Slash said about Adam...but were are the quotes from all the others? In the rock world: Rob Halford? Dio? Justin Hawkins? etc. In the pop world: ...interestingly, this maybe the shortest list...Sam Sparro, Jake Shears, Bruno Mars, etc In the music world outside of rock/pop: Nancy Sinatra, opera and musical theater folks, etc And the obvious ones...Barry Weiss, Simon Fuller, etc If we do not have such a thread yet , it may be perhaps worth starting one. I don't think anyone else out there on the web has such a list pulled together either. |
