Jerry and I went to B&N today to get my NOOK in order. We were sent back to the music department to talk to a young girl. There was a woman there buying CD's for her husband for father's day. Of course, we jumped on her immediately and talked her into buying Adam's Trespassing. She had picked up the regular album and when I noticed I said "oh no, you must get the deluxe copy because the bonus songs are some of the best songs on the album." Then I shoved the deluxe copy into her hands. We continued to talk music and became quite friendly. As we walked out of the store together she looked at her sales slip and said "that album better be great because it just cost me $17.99." I bought one from B&N online for $8.99. I really felt bad. Why would they put a price like that on his album? They might sell a lot more if it were a little less expensive. Oh well, I got one person to buy it. I was happy. I just hope her husband loves it. She said her husband liked him on idol and she didn't, but she thought he should have won. Crazy day today.

I also agree with the person who said that the proliferation of ugly, homophobic, gay-bashing comments is an almost predictable backlash. A desire to put the genie back in the bottle, to shut Pandora's box, to un-ring the bell that tolls of change. For that alone, this poll win is inspiring. IMHO I don't discount the contribution to the ugly backlash that may also be coming from the online fanbases of the other nine singers who lost to Adam in the poll. Still, it's sadly revealing that the commenters so easily resort to ugly attacks and slurs based on sexual orientation. Had Usher, Drake or Chris Brown won the poll, I doubt we'd be seeing an online backlash of racist comments. There's still such a long way to go. It also pizzes me off that Capital is trying to incite the Beiber fans against Adam, all for the sake of cheap clicks. Uncalled for!

I'm sorry but why do you read the comments? Hey, teddybear, seeing your name reminds me of a question that's been bugging me lately... Since Adam's been in the UK, I've seen lots of mentions of "teddy" boys...then last night, I was finishing a book set in UK/Ireland that described a character as a "teddy" -- what the heck does this mean?? (Hope it's good!) And Smokey, you're unabashed unapologetic response to teddybear's question here made me LOL! 99.9% of the time I ignore comments...the other .01%, I'm like you! In the big picture, it matters little what anyone posts in comments. To each his own!
