Ok, guys, English lesson needed: 1. Peaches? Are those breasts or ass cheeks or what? 2. Also, someone used this expression yesterday: " fly by the seat of the pants"???? Or something like that. I even think Adam used it, and I'd really want to know what it means, 3. But this one tops all: it has been bugging me EVER SINCE I JOINED ATOP: 'LOLLY, LOLLY, GET YOUR ADVERBS HERE' ( which is a certain person's message  What does this mean?????????? Fly by the seat of your pants is an expression from early aviation that means flying without instruments or in fog or bad weather. In such a situation, you have no guidance to turn to, so you fly by instinct and experience and hope for the best. |

Japanese tweeter got excited and used the wrong word "Peaches" versus "Thigh". Twitter went nuts think'n about WHERE and HOW EXTENSIVEthe structural failure had been.  See hoopla's ETA (there's diagrams!): 2) "Fly by the seat of their pants" is an English colloquial expression. No idea where it originated, but it basically means "Not-prepared-but-gonna-do-our-best-and-hope-the-hell-it-turns-out-great". 3) I like lollipops (lollys). Heck, there's actually a RL lolly bucket too, used to bribe both our and nearby neighborhood kids for chores and yardwork (tho' admittedly my husband is the one who keeps that one stocked!). Virtual lollipops have been around this group since we started gathering for the American Idol concert threads back at mjsbigblog. PLUS.....[grins] I love Schoolhouse Rock, and the "Lolly" song is one of my daughter's favorites. Hence "Lolly, Lolly, Lolly get yer adverbs here!" ;D (replaced with clearer vid) |

SEE, I KNEW IT! TY Gelly! I didn't even remember where the term "peaches" came from until I saw this on google: @wxteoevilyn: ADAM LAMBERT RIPPED HIS PANTS AND SAID PICK YOUR PEACHES! and it happened at Osaka concert-- peach apparently means ass in Japanese...Oh, Adam! ;D Is this what happened ? What I remember is what that link you posted wrote. That a Japanese fan wanted to write "I saw his thighs" in Japanese and from the excitement wrote in Japanese "I saw his peaches" ! Apparently a similar spelling to Japanese between thighs and peaches? Anyway we were laughing so hard, THAT I can remember clearly! ETA What Hoppers said! |
