 Sorry to hear Adam has a cold. I remember somebody here posted a remedy that you take and your cold is gone almost immediately. I can't remember what it was. If anyone does maybe you could tweet it to Adam. I'd love to know it's name myself!  Got to go do RL stuff!  |

It makes me curious. What drives this man? I think you could ask ten people that question and get ten different answers. It tells you more about them than it does about Adam. So saying, what I see, consistently, since he was a small boy, is the passion, the need to perform and create. To do that to the utmost of his ability, and then to reach just that little bit further. I have no doubt there is ego there, and more than a bit of extrovert exhibitionism. But, that, the fame, the notoriety, is not the driving force. As he has said, that is the by-product, not the goal. He has said, repeatedly, since the interview when he was in high school, that, if he can continue to sing and perform for the rest of his life, he will be a happy man. He is still saying it. In the most recent interview posted here, he says he went on Idol because he wanted to make more money doing what he loved -- making music. If you look at his "tribe," the people he holds close to him and has since his young days, they are also deeply driven creative artists. If you have ever been part of such a community, or been around one, you recognize Adam as one of the tribe. Most never gain broad recognition or wealth from their art, but, they continue to create because that is life to them. I seem to remember an interview some time back where Adam was doing word association, and upon hearing the word "music" or he said something like "air." It is as essential as breathing to him. |
