I just finished listening to this program. It's long but well worth the time. Two things stood out for me. Terry Gross, the interviewer, commented that "We Will Rock You," which Brian wrote, had very little guitar in it - just at the end. He said the most important part of a song is the singer - you have to have the right singer... The other thing was how involved Brian was in the production, and how complex a job it was to do all the layering of voices - it was still the era of splicing tape! How they did "Bohemian Rhapsody" is quite a story. Wonder how it would all sound if they'd had today's technology... The more I learn about Brian, the more I like him, and think he must be having as much fun as Adam with all this. So excited for them all (and us!)!!! |
