So they released a free download of BTIKM in the UK. And it seems to be getting some attention? I wonder if down the road they could try something like this in the US with the song Trespassing, but with a little push behind it. If it had some promo/ advertising, and then was just released for free for a limited period of time---do you think it could get some buzz/ more broad exposure this way? Could some momentum be built from this? Plus be a way of getting a really cool song out to more ears? I don't know, just a thought. What confuses me is that BTIKM is not the lead single in the UK. Weren't they told it would not make it in the UK? So, are they giving it away in a marketing technique to drum up interest in NCOE and the CD? Since it wouldn't sell anyway, give it away, and people realize this guy sounds good? Perplexing.

I wonder if the label uses those popularity bars for their marketing information? RCA does not need to use popularity bars -- they have sales units. Currently, I do not think any track from Trespassing has track unit sales that would impress the label. ---- Reminder: do not forget to request NCOE from you local station -- particularly if the song is on a playlist for a local station. This is a critical week in North America for this single.

I realize that no single has impressive sales yet, but if the general public is connecting to Trespassing, as a single, then why would they not consider that as the next single (if there is one?)

Q3 I get that sales aren't impressive. But, maybe offering something for free for a limited time--heck, even NCOE--might be a way of reaching new ears. At this point, Adam's songs just need to be heard. Maybe this would be a way of motivating new people to check out the song.
I only mentioned Trespassing as something that might work down the road (actually, I think it would be the perfect song to try something like this with as it is the title track and something a little bit "different") I do realize NCOE is what's happening now. Fans are still supporting it.
eta---didn't they do something like this with Kelly Clarkson a few years ago?

The BTIKM UK Free Track is an Amazon MP3 promotion -- they always have a few major label artist on the list. Is there any information that this has anything to do with a Sony UK promotional strategy? Why BTIKM? BTIKM is the only track from Trespassing that is released in the UK.

Maybe it's just me but, why does it seem like when he's here promoting radio plays his songs and a little while after he moves on to some other part of the world lol. But then it's like ok done, ready for another song. I know Q102 plays NCOE. But I used to hear it on 98.5 KRZ when he was here for their radio concert and now, I don't hear it. Am I just missing it that much? :( No, you are not missing anything. NCOE is getting played to support radio events by stations -- both before the event and right after. But then the song needs to continue to get/hold listeners. NCOE is going to be the single thru the summer so it has a lot of time.

I just put in my 500 votes for Adam as Must Follow Artist on Twitter, and for the first time I thought I'd take a look at the people against whom he's competing in that category. I literally don't know who any of them are except for Blake Shelton and Yoko Ono. No wonder radio stations don't care what I want to hear! I am so out of the loop!
