Need some advice on requesting. There are NO radio stations in Southeast Florida spinning or adding. There are other stations in Florida that have done both. How far afield can I legitimately go? I would certainly love to request in areas where it has been added. Do I just stay with Q102, Sirius and the other "request from anywhere" stations? Do I start to call, tweet or email my three local stations in addition to the requests? Are my daily requests too much since they have not been spinning either BTIKM or NCOE?
Would love to constructively channel the frustration.
However, I am in the camp of expecting changes from July 7th forward. If "our change ain't gonna come", I will figure out how to deal with it then.

So, on the Billboard Poll, I vote for: 1. Trespassing as a Favourite #1 BB album 2. NCOE as Best music video (write in) 3. What about best festival performance? Can we write something in for that? 4. Best style ( write in) 5. What about best televised performance? Adam on Jimmy Kimmel, maybe? 6. And for the most anticipated event, do we all agree the title is Adam and Queen Tour? 7. Or should we all just focus on Trespassing as the best album category, because it's definitely the most important thing? Can someone say what the best thing would be? The votes don't get divided, like on the OMAs so I say vote for which ever you want,  but definitely for best #1 album! Trespassing deserves that! |

I didn't even know what adds were until 2 years ago! So, I say, if you are a regular listener to a station, request away! |

If you live in Broward County, you can't get Orlando radio. Do not waste the time. And out of market requests may hurt. There is no Top 40 or HAC station in SE Florida that will play NCOE without adding it to their playlist. And WHYI-FM Top 40 Miami is not a likely add. Save your effort for national voting and polls. Q102 needs a kick so vote there. ---- Generally, right now we need new people to request. The song needs to do its job in the places where it is being played. Regarding stations playing NCOE -- 65 stations have added it, and 61 played it last week. That is not bad. These are the 3 stations that added, played it but did not play it last week. But Q3, my question is, will RCA want to give up the time that a headlining tour requires? If Trespassing were to fall out of the BB200 (IF) would RCA want to give up another 6 months of time for Adam to tour to, primarily, his existing fanbase? If a tour didn't start until Spring 2013, then that puts Adam out of the mainstream spotlight/public eye for a LONG time, again. I wonder if RCA would rather start some kind of new project by 2013---whether it is a another album or something else. I just wonder, in the end, if we will see a full-blown tour. I think he needed Trespassing to be more visible in order for this to make sense. Maybe, he will do a limited series of one-off concerts instead. I can't help but think this fall, when TV schedules resume, Adam will be all over the place on TV promoting Trespassing. Having just finished the Queen gigs won't hurt. It's clear Adam is ready to do whatever it takes, and whether or not radio cooperates he and RCA will not stop promoting Trespassing. It's too good. And I see RCA pushing hard for multiple Grammy nominations as well. As fans, we can request, request, request, do the word of mouth thing and - if we're lucky enough - attend a concert. As with everything else in life (job, kids, etc.) there is no point in my angsting over something I have no control over. So I will enjoy this wonderful music, this wonderful person and do what I can to spread the word. Amen to what you said, I couldn't agree more! |
