Common sense says that fans will push harder to request songs they actually prefer over songs they don't. There's much more incentive to sell and more pleasure in selling something you believe in over something you don't....especially when you're not getting paid to do so and doing it only out of a desire to help someone else succeed. If fans are really doing this, then they aren't using common sense in any way. Common sense should tell them that radio singles are not picked for the stans. They never have been and they never will be. Radio singles are picked for the general listening public, the public that isn't invested in any way in Adam Lambert. If fans are really trying to help "someone else suceed", what does it matter if their personal favorite song was picked or not? If fans don't help push a single, that's on THEM, not RCA. That's what they did, but they can't force 250 radio stations to play any song! A record label can't survey 250 radio stations and get a binding contract saying they will play a song for months on high rotation. Adam's stans, or any stans for any artist are not enough to fully support any single that doesn't take off with the general listeners. Adam and RCA can only do so much. ETA: I should really scroll through a page before I hit the quote button and reply to a post! Just saw what Q3 wrote in response to this original post and ITA!  Thanks for the perspective tigerlily. It makes perfect sense. Reading this makes my daily requests seem less like drugery. It really is all about the general public and we diehards need to keep our focus on that. We are already won over so our focus needs to be on all the rest of the potential fans. And, I think, for the moment we need to stay very optimistic. Adam is doing his part. We need to keep requesting and tweeting and playing the silly radio games. |

Just saw someone tweet about this on twitter and I have to say I agree with them. @richdimare Many of you already have @adamlambert 's new album #Trespassing which is great...but what are your favorite 2 songs and why? I read through the @ replies and everyone is naming everything except NCOE. Come on people this is a DJ from a top 10 market asking what your favorite song is. They have the song added to their playlist. Common sense says you say NCOE. Another one tweeted that it's the best album she's heard in "40" years. Yup, that's just the audience they want to attract. I should probably scroll this as I am just on page one and perhaps it has been discussed...but..on an Adam Lambert forum, are we being told to be ashamed of ourselves, and to lie!! seriously?? to quote Adam, I am gutted.... eta...from the posts just above, I gather it is/has been discussed....well, my reaction still stands but I will go back and read the rest now. I am a bit afraid of what I am going to read tho.... :-[ |

I lovelovelove this interview  All of it, from the 'football shorts' bit to 'home is where your heart' is bit.  I know i know I think its because he speaks so genuinely? That gives him great power. |

He has the chance of becoming a great star. Do you think you’ll just play a few shows together and that will be it, or will you stick together for longer? I really don’t know. This is a very joyous experiment for us, which in my opinion will prove to work out excellently. We will know more when we’re done with this tour but Queen is us, Brian and I. Having someone else join us permanently would be a mistake. |
