Adam can perform in a campy style, this is true. But I don't think of the songs as campy, which is what he is saying about the album. Think of Music Agan, when he did it on The CBS Early Show. That was not campy at all. The only songs, that to me, might be slightly campy are FYE and IIHY. But that is only when I think about the videos. Before I had the visuals of these music videos, I never thought of either song as campy. The first time he performed Soaked, he was campy. But I don't think any of us would feel that song is a campy song, now. I adore this performance. But one of the reasons I adore it is the little eyeroll he does at :33 to :35 when he sings, "Oh babe I'm goin' crazy" -- that's an overblown, overused cliche line and he's delivering it consciously as just that. Later in the vid you can see him having the BEST time delivering the polysllabic "betterer" type lines, too -- the fact that he has such FUN with that, and with riffs stolen from old Sweet albums (Desolation Boulevard, anyone?) is part of the fun. Now, all that said, I love Leonard Cohen. Love Bruce Cockburn, Ferron, Antony and the Johnsons, Indigo Girls, Lou Reed. Love earnest, heartfelt, poetic. Love depth. I'm looking forward to seeing what Adam can do on that level ... Broken Open, I think, bodes well. |

I went to the Zoo today with my 5 year old niece and she is really hooked on Adam. Last week she stayed with her Grandmother and she downloaded FYE on my nieces's ipod. I think grandma is a closet fan. Today we went to the Zoo and she asked me to play the CD all the way (she knows I love Adam) . When we got home on went the cd again and out came Ken with black nails and eyeliner. Ken is now Adam..
She watched Adam on idol and wanted to know where all the makeup went she likes the campy look.
GNT DVD amazing I can hear the cane tap during Strut. Watched it 3 times and play the CD all day. I may have to go and buy a large screen TV just to watch this video. Must buy reserves this one will be well worn very soon.

What is the name of this song? She is on itunes but the songs are in Finnish (?) - love it and would love to purchase  Yes, her songs are all in Finnish. This one is "Missä muruseni on". Thank you, couldn't figure out which one it was!! |

While listening to the joy stream, I was thinking, it'll be nice if Adam was to write/record/interpret/produce a song like FS WLL for his 2nd album, well I'll be over the moon, if he will have like just one sexy album track, like NIN Closer. Kind of lamenting that there wasn't a professional quality recording of that song.

Rihannsu, I remember watching the RuPaul interview and that struck me as well. I remember being glad that he did not play the name game. Although observant & quick thinker that he is he had a name for someone else.
