I text to 55100 and any message you send to this number gets an auto reply that says: "z100: tx 4 txting z100 Your msg has been sent 2 the studio." plus some more words... I usually text " pls play Never Close Your Eyes by Lambert"...
I also txted "hello" and received the same reply... so who knows where these requests go... I text from all family phones twice a day. YIKES!!! I hope not since the name of the song is Never Close OUR Eyes! ya... i do text the correct title...make an effort to remember every time I txt... ;D

Wow, if this is the way radio works today. Adam is screwed unless RCA starts paying the indie reps to get songs played.

I believe your tortoise is trudging along, making good time (for a tortoise). Remember, they are slower than their ocean cousins. Trying to think of what is slower than a turtle. I think perhaps my magazine is embedded in a glacier. Hope the plastic wrap is truly waterproof. "2 ft per day, or an inch per hour." Congrats, aloha!!! Somehow, I think I'll feel it when my "Fault" gets close to me. Not getting even a tingle.

Also, the article touched on the concert/tour business, and I think I've read that a similar problem exists there. My question: Is the industry any different/better overseas? More or less corrupt? ETA: Another question: Will online entities like ITunes, Amazon, Spotify, Vevo, MTV, VH1, online radio, international online radio ever have enough influence to weaken the current radio system?

Did they take your requests? I tried twice today and the reply came back with an error. My second request I gave the artist's name and the name of the song, said please and thank you and got the same "need more info" text message back. What has been working for you? If you text "Please play Never Close Our Eyes" you will receive a reply stating that your message has been sent to the studio. I am dumbfounded by the number of rules/conventions a person must go through to request a song. I wonder what percentage of Americans actually request songs on radio. As a kid, I did it once and was totally intimidated by the DJ who said "No, we don't have 'I'll Be There'" (Jackson 5) : Right . . . . I can understand he was tired of little girls requesting it, but this sort of shenanigan is nothing new.
