I am deeply touched by the Queen + Adam concert, especially WWTLF. Those Freddie fans who don't want Adam anywhere near Freddie's music or Queen don't understand an important aspect of this new collaboration. Without Freddie, there would not be an Adam Lambert as we know him. Freddie inspired Adam in so many ways. This awkward, lonely, struggling teen who found his solace and his gift in musical theater listened to Freddie, watched Freddie and saw how rock music could become the theater he loved and was training for. Rock could be musically complex and challenging; it could be great fun and emotionally deep. It could embrace the craft of musical theater and opera. A rock frontman could wear theatrical costumes and make-up and take on characters. Could be flamboyant and camp and commanding and outrageous .... and gay. ( Freddie may not have been out, but watching him perform, was there any question?) Adam, tonight, was totally and utterly Adam, yet simultaneously a living legacy for Freddie. Freddie couldn't live forever; but with Adam singing with Queen, we can see the next generation that Freddie helped to conceive. That corny twitpic of Freddie in heaven handing the mic to Adam actually has more than a grain of truth in it. I think, if Freddie is looking down on Queen + Adam, he would be tickled pink, impressed, and a very proud papa. Freddie wanted the show to go on; and tonight it did in awe inspiring ways. If I would not have loved you before, I would now.

I keep watching WWTLF and his beautiful vulnerable self singing his heart out (to "Sauli I think) Hee. His face says it all. ILHSFM
