The quote is from the first RS interview written by Vanessa Grigoriadis:
"At his core he is the hardest thing to come by in pop culture: a genuinely free-spirited, easygoing flower child who prizes love over money, peace over power."
Okay, that took me a long time to find because I had to re-read the article again--it was so well done. It's remarkable how much she "got" him in such a short amount of interview time, especially as we all have learned so more about him since 2009.
Another great quote:
"The same electricity that he projected onstage is abundantly available in person, coupled with this triple-snap sense of humor, relentlessly sunny disposition, and a knack for quickly assessing the best way to work with everybody he comes across."

There were some comments in yesterday's thread (can't remember who from) that were talking about the vocal riffing and runs that Adam does. Some like it, some not so much - I tend to think of it in this way... Adam is the kid that can ride his bike full speed downhill balancing with his arms spread wide - "weeee look at me, isn't this fun" - that's the way I see the vocal runs, it's his way of spreading his arms wide and embracing the joy of the moment when he sings. Yes, I think it comes out of him through his joy of singing in the moment  :2tears:

Just watched the interview that Queen + Adam Lambert gave in Poland. Adam made an interesting comment regarding his singing with Queen whereby he remarked that appearing with them is a "sure thing" unlike when he performs his own stuff when he wonders if people will like it -- with Queen that is already a given -- people like their songs. Also, I loved that Brian said Adam was a born performer and very generous. I also liked Adam's comments on stepping in for Freddie (so to speak) and how he strived to do his own interpretation. I think Brian was really impressed with the thought that Adam put into this answer. In any case, I wasn't going to watch it and then was very glad I did. Also cracked me up after the first translation when Adam said, "what she said!" Too funny.
OT: Andy Cohen was on the view this a.m. and, of course, was asked the "coming out" question in which he remarked that his mother said, "I probably wouldn't have liked your wife anyway!" That also cracked me up.

In terms of the silly radio polls that pit Adam against anyone from Idol---IMO, it does more for him to actually lose. If fans can let this stuff go, I think it makes Adam appear more relevant and mainstream and, basically, out of the Idol bubble. Let KA fans and Cook fans who have absolutely NOTHING else to cheer over win these stupid polls. I mean, how often do you ever see Kelly Clarkson winning these things??? Totally agree. And especially since there are always ugly comments. Paired with nal & homophobic comments = double whammy for me.
So do I! Wouldn't be Adam if he didn't RUN here & there. That's one of the things that makes him unique and one* of things (or so I thought) that made many of us fall in love with him.
* One of MANY, MANY things!
