I'm still waiting to get this gifting underway. I've been looking at tweets of people already doing it and they are asking for dm's with email addresses. I thought you could only dm people who followed you? How can a dm be a first contact??? twitter dummy here :-[ I just learned you can't DM unless they follow you. I think you contact them via twitter to let them know you want a gift, then they follow you and you DM them with your email address.

Yes I can if I buy a UK iTunes gift card ... someone upthread gave an online address to buy one. Nope, you can't gift with a UK gift card you have bought. I tried that, and the fine print says it won't work. You also can't buy the single twice yourself, even if you delete the first one you bought. You have to be gifted to get it a second time. Shucks, I just read the back of an iTunes card that I have here, and it does say that it can't be used to purchase "any other merchandise, allowances, or iTunes gifting ...." That is really odd, I can hand the card to someone as a gift and they can use it to download something, but I can't use it to gift them a download ... Sorry, I just read that comment upthread and thought I could do it, but I guess I can't ... ETA: And on that sorry note, I got my second Gold Star! :-[

I have gifted myself. I send the gift to a different email addres than the one I use for my iTunes. I get the download link in that address and then download to my normal iTunes. I have been charged for the gifted songs once I have downloaded. I have done that to send the singles to people living in other countries. I sent them their copies and the sales do not suffer.

thanks Cookiejar and QueeenAl for noticing!!! I hate to admit this but I've been sober since Mother's Day and when I'm sober I'm quiet as a church mouse. Cannot for the life of me figure out why I clam up without the juice (and I don't mean Adam's healthy kind.) Maybe some Psych major (or minor) can figure it out for me. ;D ;D ;D who needs a degree? Life is hard enough. translation:

You can't gift someone if you don't live in the UK Yes I can if I buy a UK iTunes gift card ... someone upthread gave an online address to buy one. No, you can't gift with an iTunes card - aka voucher. You can buy stuff. Like Trespassing deluxe with Map. But you can't gift. And you can't buy NCOE if you've already been gifted. They say "You've already purchased this". They have your purchase history. It's okay to get gifted many times. But you can't then buy it for yourself. Found this out by buying a UK iTunes voucher on eBay at discount. Was very easy. Just searched "UK iTunes vouchers". You get the redemption code in your regular eBay email. You log on to your new UK iTunes account, click on "Edit" in payment options where - unless you're British - you should have "none", and click "redeem", enter your new ebay bought code, presto, you got pounds in your account. But you can't gift. But it is a way to dl bonus tracks, and possibly British books or something. But you have to spend 13 pounds. Which is around 20 bucks.

I'm still not able to set up a U.K. iTunes account without a valid credit card for over there. I only have my debit card. Someone else just said put none, but that is not an option and it won't allow it. It does ask if the billing address is in another Country you can change that, but will it still be a U.K. iTunes account if I do that? I'm so confused. ??? ??? ???

I'm gifting as well like Glampoon was. Anyone want one that can accept a download ???. Twitter is very quiet at the moment; I suspect a lot of people are in transit .
