Love Kills
Written by Freddie Mercury(/Giorgio Moroder) ***Note that Moroder was given credit as the song was used for his remake of the film Metropolis but it was really written by Freddie.
Musicians:
Freddie Mercury - vocals, keyboards
Mack - keyboards, programming
See notes below but also additional musicians:
Brian May - guitar
Roger Taylor - programmed drums
Possibly:
John Deacon - bass guitar
- Issued as a single backed with ‘Rotwang’s Party (Robot Dance)’ (which had no Freddie involvement) in September 1984 in the US (where it hit #69) and in the UK (where it hit #10) Interestingly, Queen’s own single at the time – Hammer to Fall – only climbed to #13. Also issued in September 1984 in Australia (where it did not chart) Canada, The Netherlands (where it hit #32), Italy, Japan (where it did not chart), and Mexico. Issued as a promo with unknown B-Sides in 2000 in Italy.
- Used on the soundtrack for the film Metropolis
- Originally this was tried as a Queen demo and in 2000 Brian stated that the released version almost certainly contains his guitar and Roger's programmed drums. Since it was a Queen track, it wouldn't be far fetched to say that John's bass is also included but it does sound more like a synth bass.
- There were many remixes made of this track but Freddie never tried it live.

- This early version is quite similar to the released version, some heavier keyboard effects.
PERSONAL NOTES:
- Great song. It's a good song to singalong to, unfortunately as Freddie was getting into his first solo project he was headlong into the 80s keyboards but this is a good track.
NEXT? Queen had one more single to release this year...the non-album track Thank God It's Christmas...but did they pick the wrong track?

Love don't give no compensation
Love don't pay no bills
Love don't give no indication
Love just won't stand still
Love kills - drills you through your heart
Love kills - scars you from the start
It's just a living pastime
Ruining your heartline
Stays for a lifetime won't let you go
Because love (love) love (love) love won't leave you alone
Love won't take no reservations
Love is no square deal
Hey love don't give no justification
It strikes like cold steel
Love kills - drills you through your heart
Love kills - scars you from the start
It's just a living pastime
Burning your lifeline
Gives you as hard time won't let you go
Because love (love) love (love) love won't leave you alone
Hey love can play with your emotions
Open invitation to your heart
Hey love kills
Play with your emotions
Open invitation to your heart to your heart
Love kills love kills
