I think this whole "AI judge" thing is going to be a huge distraction. All publicity is not the right publicity and this comes along just as he was starting to gain some separation from the whole AI thing.
If Adam wants to forever be cemented as "reality show contestant" then this is one sure way to do it. He is in a totally different position than JLO or Tyler were in - not even going to address "The Voice" because that's a totally different show and dynamic. Both of them have had significant previous independent success. Yes in JLO's case it helped restart her career, but that is very different than going on the show as a judge when you are just getting started (and let's not kid ourselves Adam is just getting started). I think him returning to AI at this point would be seen as "he can't make it on his own and needs AI" and you can count on them milking the fact he was former contestant ad nauseum.
I'd love to see Adam on TV every week as much as the next person but not this show at this time – no matter how big the pay packet (I don't think Adam is hurting for kale juice spare change)
Of course YMMV and probably will, but I sincerely hope this is just unfounded rumor.
