... I have to say, it is to me very disappointing to see that a mega quality artistic achievement like these 3 concerts in Eastern Europe is not getting any news in the US for Adam (or for Queen for that matter), but that this potential future AI slot news is making such waves. What is wrong with this world? The skill required to do what Adam did these last week is totally unique in the world, nobody else besides him could have stood up, done a week or two of rehearsals and sang that catalog of Queen songs, in this quality and at this performance level. Noone in the world! On the other hand - TV judge? Adam may be especially good at it, but it is not something that takes that much talent? Yet it is rewarded with beaucoup bucks, tons of privileges and status, and a huge media entourage in tow. Wonders off shaking head..... Unfortunately, the masses don't always get it. Adam is a brilliant vocalist, but many just don't have the ear to appreciate him. The thing that truly differentiates Adam from the other AI alum in my mind is that he is really a celebrity on top of being an amazing singer. Radio plays all kinds of people that we never see anywhere and that no paps follow around and who do not generate headlines. I think Adam will do whatever he wants to do, and if it doesn't work out, he'll move on to the next thing. As long as he is entertaining me on TV or elsewhere, I will be happy! |

I hear ya! I just finished watching a video of the smug little weasel, Ryan Seacrest, announcing the performers at this year's I Heart Radio festival in vegas. Of course, no Adam. Maybe AFL had a conflict in his schedule and could not participate. But, I can't help seeing it as another diss. On the other hand, Adam is singing with Queen and in the news! Yay.  I didn't have any hopes for that IHeartRadio show. If he had been booked for that, Clear Channel stations would have been spinning his songs. With only a few exceptions, they've been ignoring him. I wish I knew how to bring article on show and clear channel,on Yahoo news. The comments say it all, people for the most part can't stand Clear Channel or their picks for who airs on radio. Many said they felt controlled and go elsewhere |

I am way behind in the thread today because of some RL and some AL...
Just wanted to let the Finns know that I took the initiative and send a long mail to Klaus Flaming in RockRadio concerning the Queen+Adam Lambert venture. Maybe some of you might want to mail him and request for your favourite Queen music to be played in order to support my effort? Or ask about this collaboration and what he thinks about it and maybe play some songs?
I know they play mostly hard rock stuff but Flaming's programme is very varied, there was Beatles, Kaseva, Cliff Richards, Moody Blues, Kisu, Bowie, Elvis, Irwin etc played last week.
