I can understand those who really want Adam to distance himself from Idol...he's tried that. But, do you understand he's literally dying over here in the US? That's pretty depressing to those of us who spent months voting our fingers to the bone while he was on Idol and have requested like crazy to get him on the radio. The concert dates he has scheduled later this summer in the US are not selling anywhere near what he sold a few years ago. He's gotta do something over here in the US to make an impact cause so far, nothing else has worked. I for one don't want to see him have to abandon his own country for the overseas market. But unless his label literally paid off radio to play him, there doesn't seem to be a lot of options for him here.

THIS^^ Judging on Idol totally revived JLo's career...and look at Adam Levine.....something needs to be done in the US. Britney?? Steven Tyler?? There's no stigma attached to being a judge. Bottom line is that Adam made it clear he would jump on this. If he wants it, why would any of us not be supportive even if we don't like the idea (I like the idea, just saying) ITA. Adam knows the business more than I do and if he is eager to do this, I support him 200%. And just think, people will see how smart, articulate, funny, honest, gorgeous, kind he is - the list goes on, week after week, and hopefully will eventually have a new appreciation for him and his music. And as someone said, it is only 2 days/week. He can spend the rest of the time preparing for his ERA 2 tour, designing costumes, staging, etc. All the radio tours were for naught despite all the blood, sweat and tears (mine). Confession time - partly responsible for HMV running out of CDs. Bought the last 2 at one location and another 10 at another location. I asked the cashier to ring them up separately so they will count as individual sales. To Atopers going to Hammersmith - he told me he was there last night for a concert and it was very hot and stuffy because of all the rain we are having. He suggested to dress appropriately. Well, it will be hot regardless of all the rain! His HOTNESS (voted sexiest man in music by a radio station and sexiest man by Billboard) is on stage!

You don't want my vote on it because I don't agree AI would be a good thing. ETA: I see Nigel Lythgoe is gonna be on TV. He may completely debunk this rumor, who knows? In re the bolded: Beyond what the fans have done -- which, IMO, has been considerable -- consider how much time, effort and talent Adam himself has put into Trespassing and gotten nowhere with radio. He put out two singles picked by the label specifically to get radio play, the latter of which seems to have been chosen by radio pds. He went on radio station tours and appeared at radio station concerts, not only singing, but putting up with all sorts of idiots. He created an album that went to #1 AND got nearly universal critical acclaim. And the result? No radio play. He's worked and delivered and gotten nothing to show for it. TBH, while I don't much care for NCOE, I know that when other people hear it, they do like it. My niece and her friends all LOVE that song, for example. I've played it in planning sessions for some events I do and teens and YA LOVE it. The problem is that they don't hear it because radio does not play it. Why? None of us know, but I'm assuming RCA/DMG does know why radio has shut him out. So if RCA/DMG advises Adam to go for AI, I'm going to assume that they realize that they need to find a way to get out of the damn straitjacket radio has currently put on his career. AI, to me, is just part of a plan that should include soundtracks on tv shows, guest appearances on tv shows, vocal collaborations with artists radio will have a harder time denying, etc. He may not get huge CHR or HAC single sales, but his music will get heard and he'll make more money from touring anyway.
