"London has been a major settlement for two millennia, its history going back to its founding by the Romans, who named it Londinium. London's ancient core, the City of London, largely retains its 1.12-square-mile (2.9 km2) medieval boundaries and in 2011 had a resident population of 7,375, making it the smallest city in England. Since at least the 19th century, the term London has also referred to the metropolis developed around this core. The bulk of this conurbation forms the Greater London administrative area (coterminous with the London region), governed by the Mayor of London and the London Assembly." In my words, the greater London administrative area is a wonderful mixture of neighborhoods, with such ethnic diversity, and more recently wonderful foods and drinks. I think there are more pubs per square mile than anywhere in the world. "Pub grub" is wonderful, and as you go out to the countryside, the pubs get even better. Yep 2.5 days is not enough time to experience this area. Actually a couple of weeks is needed to explore and also hit some of the areas north of the city, especially the Cotswald area. That is where I spent the first 10 years of my life. Plus with all the shows in the theater district, you would be seeing and doing all day and into the evening. A lot of wonderful shows to be seen. I am very tempted to wander over there, but my son keeps me grounded. Some of the castles take a day to fully explore, and there are many. Castles are intriguing to me. I got to back down here, cause a plane ticket is a click away!!!!EDIT: For Europeans; Don't forget Trains ... not as uncomfortable as they used to be and quite eficcient. This is not only for Smokey, but for all would-be travellers ....
IMO you do not need to justify a trip by covering ALL bases - you never can anyway. If you love AFL, see him in concert and then on top of that get to explore a City on your bucket list - that is awsome !!! How Long or how much ... it will never be enough anyway. I saw Helsinki for approx. 24 hrs ... given that I would never even gone there otherwise, that was awsome.
I did London for the Hammersmith shows, so I am quite happy not to go this time around, as I also got to see several shows in the US and am quite content. I have visited London at least 6 times now, and always find something new and interesting. I even got to see the stage show of Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, one of my all time favorite movies, and definitely a fabulous stage show. Got to see a lot of straight men, get in touch with their feminine side. it was a sight to behold. So all is good!!!

Well, Queen was my all time favorite band, and Adam is my favorite current singer, so I have gotten the best of both worlds. I have travelled more places than I ever thought I would, to see a performance. Adam is so versatile, that he will have so many pokers in the fire and will always remain busy. It is exactly the way he likes it, and on his own terms, otherwise he would be bored. He makes friends wherever he goes. He has perfected networking. It is not your traditional career, but in today's world you have to be versatile and have to possess the ability to assimilate into whatever environment is thrown at you, otherwise you fail.
Adam will never fail. I truly believe everybody stans him in their own way, and anything he does is not equated to failure in his career, or a failure on our part as stans to connect the dots. I truly believe everything he does has purpose, and is a learning experience to be incorporated into his future endeavors. It has lead us stans to new way of thinking.
I am actually beginning to feel more comfortable living out of the box, and can truly appreciate everything Adam does. I have gained an appreciation and expanded my horizons. I am forever grateful for all the people on this board and the myriad of intelligent opinions and ideas.

I still feel that the grammy's really have nothing to do with talent anymore, but who is popular at the moment and making sales. It just seems the culture nowadays perpetuates this mode. My feelings of course!!!!!!!! There are so many talented people out there, that never get the recognition they deserve...It's seems you have to be in the right place at the right time to make it. Adam is a mover and a shaker, and he appears to be always ahead of his time. He shakes it up and others receive the recognition. Pharell is a perfect example. Adam is not going to get the recognition he deserves until he puts out his OWN music. He's certaintly not going to get it fronting a nostaligic band singing songs that someone else made hits. Yes, he's getting great reviews but it's all based on a band that already had their won success that Adam had no part of and it's been going on for 3 yrs. As of right now Adam isn't current or relevant enough when it comes to what's happening in the current pop culture music scene. I'm not one of the fans who think DMG and Shoshanna are doing an amazing job but I'll reserve my judgement until era 3. Until than we should expect anything much that isn't QAL related. I happen to agree with your statements, but I will duck and hide behind a rock. I don't want to appear that I am perpetuating negative thoughts. I am enjoying his notoriety and acceptance, and that he is probably the one of the best male vocalists out there, and am praying for a successful A3.

I'm with you. With the exception of the Oscars and the Emmys most of the time, all awards shows are a popularity contest, no doubt. will you feel that way if and/or when Adam gets a Grammy?
It always seems, to me, that the people who don't think the Grammy's are important or noteworthy are fans of artists who don't get Grammys.
The industry recognizes the Grammy as the highest honor within the music industry. It has always been an honor and I for one hope that some day Adam gets that honor, which is why I never downplay or denigrate them so when/if it happens, I can celebrate wholeheartedly.
Interesting question. Yes, I would still feel the same way, because if the other nominees are popular sellers and commercial, the academy would still be fulfilling this subjective criteria. However, I would feel in the case of Adam, they were making an exception and they had finally come to their senses momentarily, and that he was finally receiving some recognition for his talent.
I recognize many talented people have never gotten a grammy, or even performed at the grammy awards that are more than worthy contenders. I unfortunately do not feel that the grammy has the worthiness it once did, but it is what is available for an award in the music industry. It is a paradox. Some of the other award ceremonies in the music industry are a joke. But it is what it is, and we as a consuming public perpetuate it.
I unfortunately am quite biased, and the synapses of my brain do not compute a lot of the nominees. I understand your feelings about some of the nominees, but I do not share your sentiments. Adam has really spoiled me.
We can disagree to agree.
