Trying to catch up, and just watched that awesome Green Day crowd singing BR! Does anyone have any details? They're not singing a capella, cause I can hear the BR music in the background = did someone plug the song into an amplifier somewhere? What a thrill for Roger and Dr Bri to hear that! omg!! Green Day specifically puts that in their pre-show music. This actually isn't the first time that happened. From 2013. Green Day are big Queen fans (at least Billie Joe is) They modeled their rock operas after Queen's grandiose ideas...and have covered Queen themselves at times...

One of my favorite songs from this tour is Roger's solo I'm In Love With My Car. It's the first video I look for after It's Late. Can't wait for Talon's reaction to hearing it live. I can't wait to see it live. I've been capturing streams as I collect every gig but I haven't listened much yet...Mainly bits and bobs...I was forced to listen to It's Late from Seattle because everyone said how good it was...and I concurred...LOVE it. But I did catch a snippet or two of IILWMC and I absolutely love it, especially with Tyler Warren's mixed harmonies. Brilliant

I absolutely LOVE this. One of my favorite comments I read about this was "Only Queen could rock a stadium without even being there" ADAM LAMBERT has Freddie Mercury's vocals beat by a mile... 'There I Said It' IMHO Adam is the best singer of this generation...I just had to get this off my chest.. Oh Mellie, you've done it now - Tallon please step away from the computer!! Of course, I totally agree with you and Cassie has explained why Adam is technically the better singer. And if there were a contest for the best vocal performer in the world based on various criteria, Adam would likely come out on top. Just as well really or the human race would be extinct by now!! No need to step away It's an opinion. And one I've seen here on a few occasions already! I'm not going to fault someone for their opinion.....even if my opinion is that that particular opinion is batshit crazy But that's my opinion. And I laugh away such crazy talk I'm not going to sit and stew over it lol...I'm not going to fight it...not going bother to pull out every list of top 10 rock singers that has Freddie at #1 because that's all their opinions too! I'm comfortable with my opinion and with all those opinions. And I'm just as comfortable with mellie and your opinion as well. At the end of the day one of my favorite sayings will always hold true. Opinions are like assholes...everyone's got one. The last part of your post, I quoted for absolute truth. So go love Adam, love his voice more than anything else. I get loving someone's voice that much And I hope he gives you all years of pleasure. Hopefully even more than Freddie was able to give me. On a side note, my third favorite singer ever wouldn't even make any top 500 lists...Roger :D Roger's voice does worlds for me and I know that I would be in somewhat of a minority....I think it's because I associate his backing vocals as a key component to live Queen. Not quite as much these days (given that Tyler, Neil, Spike all sing with Brian on BV. Back int he day of the Queen 4some it was Freddie singing and Brian and Roger behind him for the most part...take a look at any ending portion of Somebody To Love 81-82 (Montreal or Milton Keynes are good choices) to see what I mean about Roger's backing vocals. Adam? He cracks my Top 100 for sure...my top 50 probably...my top 30 maybe...my top 20 possibly...probably due to singing Queen...I'd have to sit and think on it... But you do you and I will be me and I will never ever fault that

talon, I have a query. I read this articleMy immediate thought was, who was more progressive in rock than Queen in the 70's? For me Bohemian Rhapsody would definitely qualify as progressive. They don't even mention Queen in the article, so I assumed they don't consider them prog rock. I tried to research it online and apparently, from what I could tell, there are some differing opinions on whether Queen should be labeled prog rock. Wondered what your take was? Alright. Queen as prog-rock. The issue here really is that Queen never truly fit into any one category BUT they definitely dipped their toes in almost all of them. I will say that Queen DEFINITELY had some prog moments. But prog is a religion to those who are involved - they seem to be a very exclusive kind of group - so Queen who had so many radio friendly tracks and did a lot of NON-prog songs, they generally weren't invited to the club. They were mostly looked on as musically proficient but did too much non-prog to truly fit in that movement. You are correct in that Bohemian Rhapsody is a bit proggy. To be honest Queen II is a favorite Queen album from Prog-lovers as it fits their tastes the most - the weaving from song to song, from bit to bit in a musical movement of sorts. But the further they got from Queen II the more prog fans would shy away from Queen while showing them respect. 80s Queen though forget it...90s though...Innuendo would be a proggy kind of track... Bands like Rush...bands that made complete concept albums, weaving stories in records...those are the kind of bands that prog rock fans ate up. A more current act is Dream Theater. If you had to peg Queen down it'd probably be more Glam Rock...along with Bowie, Sweet, T-Rex, etc. But even that I'd say meh to...they were much more heavyweight to be tied down to that. They were too soft to be heavy metal, they were too light to be pop rock. They just were Queen, lol. But at the end of the day, I guess if you had a complete list of prog-rock artists, Queen would still get a mention - just not a big mention...

* I felt that Adam bringing out the Red Special after Brian's stereoscopic selfie moment had a very powerful message to me. He is being trusted to hold that instrument which is more precious than a Stradivarius... I suspect the number of people allowed to touch that object can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Hope Talon might provide more info here? I won't lie, it's probably more than you'd think...His tech obviously. There is a guy whose name I forget who actually got to take it apart down to the bones and put it back together (Chronicled in The Red Special book)...THAT took a lot of faith by Brian. Obviously the Queen guys Roger actually is on a small bit of A Kind Of Magic playing the Red Special... And I know of a few other friends.. BUT I'd still say it's special nonetheless It is a very nice moment.

^Ahh I see that now! Although I will point out that Brian and Kerry had said the same thing about Golden Days all the while dripping and drabbing single downloads here and there. So it might mean the same thing. But I guess wait and see
