It would have been very easy for them and would have been much appreciated by the fanbase. I'm guessing Brian is too busy with Kerry and his other projects to "clean up" something that's just a bonus piece. But that's just a guess. Nice setlist though:
Procession, Now I'm Here, Ogre Battle, Great King Rat, White Queen, Flick Of The Wrist, Hangman, Doing All Right, In The Lap Of The Gods, Killer Queen, The March Of The Black Queen, Bring Back That Leroy Brown, Son And Daughter, Keep Yourself Alive, Seven Seas Of Rhye, Stone Cold Crazy, Liar, In The Lap Of The Gods...Revisited, Big Spender, Modern Times Rock 'n' Roll, Jailhouse Rock, See What A Fool I've Been, God Save The Queen
Another possible bonus should have been one of the other Hammersmith gigs from the same tour. The XMas gig was broadcast on the BBC which is why it is shortened and has a much lesser setlist - including less A Night At The Opera tracks than had been done...
There is no boots of previous Hammersmith but I'd be surprised if they didn't have the audio...The GENERAL setlist of the tour was:
Intro/Ogre Battle/Sweet Lady/White Queen/Flick of the Wrist/Bohemian Rhapsody/Killer Queen/March of the Black Queen/Bohemian Rhapsody (Reprise)/Bring Back That Leroy Brown/Son And Daughter/The Prophets Song/Stone Cold Crazy/Doin' All Right/Keep Yourself Alive/Seven Seas Of Rhye/Liar/In The Lap Of The Gods...revisited/Now I'm Here/Big Spender/Jailhouse Rock/
And tracks played on the tour so perhaps at Hammersmith's other 5 dates would be:
Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon (Probably not) Modern Times Rock'n'roll See What A Fool I've Been Hangman (either full version or in a "medley" with Modern Times Rock'n'roll) Shake Rattle And Roll Stupid Cupid Be Bop A Lula Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting Father To Son

A Night At The Odeon - Nov 20, 2015Officially announced after it was a not so well kept secret! Some pros and cons. BIG pros: Continuing to unleash long forgotten 70s gigs instead of rehashing more Magic Tour gigs. Another legendary concert. Some cool extras including a new documentary AND a release of Now I'm Here from the soundcheck to the gig. Unheard and very cool...BUT SOME cons: This was always going to be a sort of transition release. You see the setlist is similar to the Rainbow gigs - there is very little unheard gems and while we knew this was coming it was going to pale in comparison to Rainbow while we wait for what most Queen fan really want - a Live Killers Box Set or some good late 70s gigs - awesome set lists, great gigs, etc. Another con is that one thing that *COULD* have really boosted it's appeal was to add to the bonus material - either another full Hammersmith gig from earlier in the year or another '75 gig we know they have like the Budoken. They added a few tracks from Budoken as bonuses but omit what would have been the biggest selling point for hardcore Queen fans, an official recording (even if it's live) of Hangman - a track recorded for the first album but still unheard by most except the creme da la creme of collectors due to it's existence only as an acetate. WITH that one track, people would have LOVED the release instead of some fans ho-humming it a bit. Now there were rumors in the last week that one of the bonuses we would get was the soundcheck...which is a nice bonus....but now that we get here it's one song from the soundcheck. Still cool, but a bit less than we had assumed (key word assumed I know) I know my Con list is bigger but it is more because I had to explain the cons...All in all this is a great release and I will certainly be picking it up. I too am more excited about some of the hopefully to follow releases (Possibilities include - Hyde Park 1976 - Earls Court 1977 - Houston 1977 - Hammersmith 1979, A Live Killers Box Set which would take a lot of material from that tour (that we know was recorded). So we'll see. This could have been a perfect release if only they included the full Tokyo show as a bonus CD or at least more highlights that included Hangman...

Bringing this over from yesterday: Straight from my Queen thread:(shameless plug)! BUT first - no it was never performed live. In fact the only song from The Miracle album ever to be performed live thus far is I Want It All....well bits of Chinese Torture have been sprinkled into Brian's solo previously. Although this song is part of what Roger and Neil do during their interplay right before the drum battle. The original song is different from the video version. But also check out the "EARLY VERSION" below! It features Roger on vocals except for a middle 8 that Freddie did that didn't end up appearing on the actual track. Cool version.... The Invisible ManWritten by Roger Taylor Musicians: Freddie Mercury - lead vocals Brian May - guitars John Deacon - bass guitar, rhythm guitar (?) Roger Taylor - lead and backing vocals, drums, keyboards, rhythm guitar (?) David Richards - keyboards (?) - Issued as a single backed with ‘Hijack My Heart’ in August 1989 in the UK (where it hit #12). Issued as a single backed with ‘Hijack My Heart’ in August 1989 in Austria, Australia (where it did not chart), Germany, The Netherlands (where it hit #4), Italy, Philippines, and Spain. - Danny Phantom creator Butch Hartman acknowledged that it was the inspiration behind the shows theme song. Thanks for this post, Talon, I'm loving your knowledge and enjoying your posts, thanks for being here.. You (and adamrocks) are welcome It's fun being here a lot of the time - hopefully the boys will give me reason to come back!

Bringing this over from yesterday: OT but I just wanted to post this Queen video because I've always liked this song and it's video is fun!. I would have loved to have heard it performed, along with Hammer To Fall, Bicycle Race, and Good Old Fashion Lover Boy, with QAL! I know it's never happening but they would be fun! ETA: I looked it up and found it was written by Roger and released as a single in 1989. I didn't realize it had been a single. I don't think it was ever sung live though. Anyone know for sure? Talon...Q3? The Invisible Man Straight from my Queen thread:(shameless plug)! BUT first - no it was never performed live. QUOTES "I’m to blame for that one, sort of, but then everyone came in, and that went through quite a few changes due to everybody else putting in different bits and restructuring it, etc. etc. I don’t quite remember where the idea did come from. I think it came from a book I was reading, and it just seemed to fit in with a rhythmic pattern I had in mind." - Roger Taylor – 1989 ALTERNATE RELEASED VERSIONS: 12" EXTENDED- NOT ESSENTIAL but very nice - Completely different intro, it takes out the band member introductions. An interesting take but ultimately not as good as the original VIDEO VERSION- NOT ESSENTIAL but a nice video - A mix between the 12" version and the original. It has the same intro as the 12" but includes the band introductions. EARLY VERSION WITH GUIDE VOCAL- ESSENTIAL! - Roger sings lead vocal on this take with some input from Freddie but all in all this is Roger's take. A great version to be honest, including a deleted bit that should have stayed! UNRELEASED VERSIONS: EARLY TAKENO YT VID - A bit different than the released version with some alternate vocals DEMO- A bit more different but still along the same lines as the previous take FAN CLUB MESSAGENO YT VID - NOT ESSENTIAL but fun - In the 80s, the band would often give a musical message to the convention goers. This particular one was to the Invisible Man backing. PERSONAL NOTES: - A ton of fun. Just a fun dancy rock song. Great guitar work in the middle by Brian and I loved the campy band intro. Thumbs up. Next? One of my favs on the album with a great video... Breakthru

Thanks to the periscopers...Holy shit that was a white hot Tie Your Mother Down. They all just had such a blast and were so tight. I could believe Brian and Rog were 30 years younger during that one. Such a tasty jam and Adam did his best version of that one I've heard...Kudos!

I have no idea on this but when QPR were in Santiago in 2008 it was televised.... No idea if that's going to happen again but it would be nice especially given that it's the last stop on the tour....for now. It's been fun catching up with you all - I have the feeling I'll be seeing you again before TOO too long WHATCHA HINTING AT DUDE????? spill it Not really hinting...more like wishful hoping that we get the full gig in professional quality.......and that despite tensions in QPR at the time, some of my fav performances from the tour came from here so maybe I'll get some favs of THIS tour as well? :D
As far as the rest of the post goes - I have a source who says it might be sooner than expected that we see the boys together - but they are very tight lipped....

Morning thoughts: 1. cassie, I remember you mentioned that Adam is using his lower range more. Personally, I love it. Does it also serve to protect his voice, maybe less strain? I know you mentioned how incredible his stamina and how amazing that the level, the quality of his singing was maintained through such a demanding concert (Buenos Aires). 2. Has talon weighed in on Buenos Aires yet? Would love to hear his thoughts on Brian's misstep on Ghost Town. 3. Blood red moon, South American skies, Queen and Adam Lambert, rocking crowds, love all around, music, music, music? 4. augenposie, you rock. I always thought Don't Stop Me Now was a perfect song for QAL. Because, well, you know, they are all having such a good time! 5. Thanks for posting this video, ladymaserati, love it because of the note at ~0.06 (kills me ded), the deep "C'mon men," the totality of the crowd response, the way this man moves his body is just criminally and terminally sexy, pushing Roger for a faster beat, Roger's response...magic, I tell you, this boy is just magic. 6. Yes, Tiger, he is That Good. Unbelievable, right? 7. AnnAdoresAdam wrote: Could not agree more! 8. And yet another full circle moment in the life of Adam Fucking Lambert. Take it in, Adam, take it all in: I've been here online - just not had the time to respond TOO too much. LOVED Buenos Aires. Despite the truncated setlist that usually makes me less excited (especially when they lose some of the more daring material - SCC/Save Me) the crowd MORE than made up for it... as for Brian's gaffe? Um. Ouch. LOL. I know sometimes the weather can change the tuning or perhaps it was tuned in the wrong key and he had to adjust or probably more simply, Brian's older hands just fell on it wrong...a quick correction but whoops! As he gets older, despite his "playing better than ever" comments, the truth is he's not *REALLY* playing better - he makes a few more gaffes here and there - not enough to stop playing or really criticize but a few more noticeable gaffes....like that one

Talon, Any news on a possible release date for the Odeon project? Sorry just saw this! I'm so far behind with a ton of things From everyone I've been in contact with a press release is rather imminent. I believe they are waiting for the current tour to end but we should probably get a press release next week...and I would think that would mean an early-mid November release date...definitely 2015. I look forward to the press release because I want to know *HOW* excited to be. From the rumored sets I'm...mildly happy. It is a similar set list to the Rainbow shows, so not much more new there. It has been heavily bootlegged. There doesn't seem to be much on the DVD/Blu-Ray as a bonus. BUT We haven't heard the rest of the second CD for bonus tracks. *IF* they include Hangman from the Tokyo show they are pulling from that they using as bonuses from the DVD/Blu-Ray, I'd be ecstatic just for that one song. There are rumors of including a soundcheck which would also be kind of cool to see
