I take it Nick is one of the administrator on QOL. I was just wondering though why he doesn't try to interview Adam, like it or not he's the significant part of this QAL tour 2014-2015. It's okay if he's not a fan of his singing/vocal, and he maybe prefers that this collaboration never happened, but maybe he'd like to hear it from Adam's point of view. Queen's music has always been around, but this collaboration is bringing back a lot of attention to Queen's music and off course to the original members of the band (Freddie, Brian, Roger, and John) back to front page again. JMHO Nick is THE admin...he's the Q3 of QOL and a minor member of QPR. He was the one who was on the first part of the NA tour. He is very pro Adam. He says Adam is a really nice guy. And we don't know if he's tried to interview Adam....this is the first time he had Brian. He had Roger once from 2013 when his solo album was coming out. He he even touches on those negative to the tour/collaboration...

Nick at QOL just uploaded the new Queen podcast which is part 1 of a 3 part interview with Brian taken "on the eve of the new tour" so within the past few days anyways...There's some Brian berting I'm sure you'll love. It's a nice interview and I can't wait for parts 2-3 QOLI tried giving the link to directly d/l the podcast but it kept coming back here....weird. The above is the direct post to the QOL forum where Nick announces it.

^ It can but in this case it meant more that while the song was in the same key, he would choose an alternate note.

^ I actually think the Freddie Mercury Great Pretender connection was what was meant. Freddie described himself as The Great Pretender after releasing the single....stating he felt the song was written for him. Someone who may have had a lot of heartbreak behind the scenes, but in public he was still Freddie f-n Mercury...since as always The Show Must Go On.
So Freddie is TGP and Adam is filling in, he must be the Young Pretender....

In the article, Adam says he had difficulties with DSMN, but listening to it again, I'm curious where he might have had difficulties.. I don't hear any particularly high notes that might have been difficult.. any thoughts? www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsUSy5GwMeYHaving dabbled in the rock band thing as a singer (back in the day ) I can tell you it's not really one particular high note...It's that the whole song is kind of an upper range type song...no glory notes but all of it is up there which to me was always harder and harder to recognize. Anyone recognizes the glory note. It's tougher to see a not quite as high but a consistently high stretch of 4 minutes. That was a nice article...except for the no plans to record BUT I still think that will come after A3 Freddie often modulated down a bit as Roger took the higher parts in concert. I think Adam himself points out my own personal preference in that Freddie's "bad ass heavier tone" But it was great to hear how Adam steeped himself in the bios, the albums, etc. and B&R still sound smitten so I'm happy for all 3 of them!

I'll be honest, I think I'd rather them not do LMIYHA...I've always been a strong proponent of keeping QAL and Queen projects separate and I know they already did Love Kills...but Love Kills was an established song with more remixes than I can count so Adam doing the new arrangement, wasn't too bad...but LMIYHA was the first new Queen song we have had since 1995...and it's almost too new for me to want to share with Adam yet if that makes sense. Maybe that makes me one of those pig headed Queen fans which I don't usually associate with. I mean the other tracks we've had for years....this one, we barely know with Freddie. I don't know - does that make sense? Of my choices: Of course White Queen is top of the list. Let Me Live is right up there. Save Me would be 3rd. I tend to like Adam on the ballads and mid tempo tracks and not so much on the rockers which is why I wouldn't necessarily go for Hammer to Fall or Headlong. It makes perfect sense talon and I agree with you. I love Freddie's voice on YMIYHA. My husband wants You Don't Fool Me and I want Too Much Love Will Kill You (since we're picking songs). I'm thinkin you have a better shot than your husband You Don't Fool Me was created more by David Richards the producer out of 20-30 seconds of Freddie vocals. The band didn't think anything could be done with it so DR went away with it and came back with the framework enough to make them give it a shot and they made it work...indeed one of Brian's greatest guitar solos (especially of the later years) but I would think it was too much of a frankenstein of a piece to try live

^ Good start...I'm hoping with patience we will be rewarded with something rare....It is known that Brian recorded a gig at the Royal Albert Hall in 1998 with the idea of releasing a second live DVD/CD but it was shelved. Perhaps they could release this footage....

Not sure yet.
In NA he had the blessing and curse of being known. The blessing in that he had a lot of his fans going to the US concerts. A curse because the weight of American Idol was tough for some "rawk" fans.
In Europes it's the opposite. The blessing in that he is less known so might be able to just get by on his voice which is a good thing. The curse in that he is an unknown stepping in the shoes of arguably the greatest frontman of all time.
I have the feeling that he will be received well...it just might take a little longer...

^ I think that depends on where it is in the setlist. If AOBTD stays where it is then I think he'll save it. If it's moved down he might do it there. It seems that singalongs are much better received midway or just after midway through a concert. Too soon and the crowd is still just kind of getting into it...especially for Adam who has to win over the Queen crowd first.
