thinking today about why I, an older women, am attracted to Adam.
1. I (yes, I am one of the older women demographic) have the breadth of experience to know that a voice that like, one that is technically great and emotionally moving, is a rare gift, one to be treasured. That underneath the swagger and words, there needs to be substance.
2. Since Adam is not personally known to me, not anywhere near my age group and gay, I feel like it is okay for me to swoon, pretend wonder about the glambulge, obsessively watch the videos, see as many of his shows as I can afford and chat on forums about him without feeling in the least silly or inappropriate. Adam and I will never get together. I can still love the boy. Others feel differently about this, I know. For me it is a fun attraction. Fantasy is okay. Silly is okay. Feeling happy is okay. IMO.
3. He is just flat out hotter than hot to me. I could never be too old to recognize that.
4. He gives me feels. In a world gone mad (can I just say Donald HeWhoCannot amed) with so many things to worry and fret about, this boy gives me pure moments of joy. And I have the perspective to recognize and value that.
5. Did I mention how hot he is?
6. He is the ray of sunshine still. From the perspective of being a mother, I am so proud that he took what ever lessons he received and turned them into a person who is, to all appearances, a kind, intelligent, caring, socially ept, funny person. I had to age before I could really recognize that good HeWhoCannot ameds a lot of other things, including truly bad boys.
7. Personally? I love the feeling of having a crush on someone. I have a crush on Adam. Like Adam said, "A crush is a very non-threatening thing." And Kris replied, "Yeh, I have a crush on him. Can I say that? I have a crush on you, Adam.""
at ~1:50. (Plus, bonus moment, one of my favorite ever, starting at~1:39. Kudos to Kris.)
8. I appreciate it when someone's sphere of interest includes helping others.
Just putting forth some reasons why I am attracted to Adam. Not trying to speak for anyone else, or change anyone's mind about anything. I'm a grown ass woman, after all.
Yeah that !!!!!
agreed
i also love his wisdom and maturity and at the same time goofiness. I love how articulate he is and I find he is somewhat of an old soul when he speaks. I have on numerous occasions heard him say something that I would have said when I was much younger and I find his sense of humour to be so much like mine. The humour from my youth is so similar to his. His choice of words are spot on. If he was younger and immature like most of the young pop stars of today I don't think I would be as big of a fan as I am. I love listening to him speak and I appreciate his honesty and politeness and thoughtful and caring ways.
on a side note at my Walmart close to my house TOH is number 3 in the top 10 selling albums
can you imagine how well it would do if they played Ghost Town on the damn radio here in Winnipeg
grrrrr
