I don't exactly know why I have been lurking so much lately, but the new hair is pulling me out of lurkdom! I think it looks cool, and I can't wait to see what it will look like in color. I'm on board with whatever Adam wants, and hey--it'll grow and he'll change it again one of these days!
I think this will be an interesting look for Japan--I can't wait to see what kind of outfit he puts together for his performances there. It should be fun. BTW, all the press his new hair is getting is hilarious! Only Adam gets this much press coverage for changing his hair color.
I'm so glad they had a good, if short, vacation. They look happy and well-rested. Now it's time for Japan.

I think there is something wrong with the sound mix on the Billboard Triumphant Livestream. I will wait until I hear the real song before making a judgment on the vocal. --- I prefer when the key vocal is more tightly integrated into the rap portion of songs like this. Airplane, Empire State of Mine, Love the Way You Lie --- there are so many good example of how to fuse pop/R7B vocals and rap to create something really powerful. This still seems ordinary to me. >> Put me on the #DoNotWantAdam2FollowThisTrend list. (I think I am the only one.) But if Adam wanted to cover Run-D.M.C. - Walk This Way - and do the Steven Tyler part it would be fine with me. (Adam doing "Walk This Way" would be amazing.) >> I am really puzzled by the comments that Mariah's part is "Philly Soul" inspired. How can it be with no backbeat? Wrong chords? Sounds like a pop vocal to me. I would like to hear Mariah do some neo Philly Soul music. Adam actually has a bit of it on a couple Trespassing tracks. You are not the only one who doesn't want Adam to follow this trend-- you can add me to the list! The Steven Tyler "Walk This Way" is just about the only song you listed that I like. There are a couple of rap/singing mixes I love but that is unusual for me--just not my thing usually. I have never really been a Mariah fan either (although I certainly appreciate her talent), but her current song isn't great and the rapper/Mariah mix is just meh for me. I would love to hear her do some modern soul music though.

Wow -- thanks for posting the Confessionals; I haven't seen those in ages! I remember watching some of the other contestants' videos, and they were not nearly as interesting as Adam's. I know I'm not really subjective, but they really did reflect the personalities of the contestants in many ways (you can imagine some of them, I'm sure). This was a fun blast from the past -- and it's interesting to see how Adam has changed and not changed (still humble).

OT but interesting:
mjsbigblog @mjsbigblog Headlines: Lauren Alaina cancels 2 shows for vocal rest, Daughtry show also cancelled!
Now this is where years of theater and vocal training come in handy. Just saying.

Q3 -- Thanks for all the information regarding the current state of the music business and paths to success. All I will add (for those who are worrying--I'm not, but that's just me) is that there have been some very famous acts that NEVER had big radio success and were/are iconic and extremely successful. The Grateful Dead and Phish come to mind, as well as Dave Matthews to some extent (does get play but not the way other folks with his status do). Actually, Glamberts remind me of Deadheads in the way we follow Adam around from concert to concert. I met some Deadheads who spent most of a year one time following the band to all their concerts--they got to be friends with some of the staff and band members, too.
BTW, Adam has great comedic timing and instincts and would be great in a comedic role sometime. I know he would love to play a role on True Blood, too! Right now I want him to continue making music--but again, I'm happy to have him happy!

Does anyone know -- can Sauli spell? Because I think non-spellers find spellers to mate up with. I am a non-speller married to a spelling bee winner and brilliant man. Our son, unfortunately cannot spell. I won! This question was in yesterday's thread. I don't know if Sauli has any actual spelling disorder (at least I haven't heard of one), but there are quite a lot of typos and strange spellings in his blogs. Even whole sentences can be sort of mixed up - and that's what you can sometimes see in the translations, as well, since even though we try to make the text at least understandable, we try to keep it also close to the original! ;D So, I don't know if it's carelessness or just his way or writing, or if there's something else behind it. Regarding the spelling question -- I am a very good speller (English major in college) and had a long-term boyfriend who was a newspaper reporter and quite brilliant -- but he couldn't spell well at all. I think like intellects tend to unite, but maybe they can spell and maybe they can't. From Sauli's Fault article, I think he and Adam have very similar intellects, and they seem to share some other traits (bad spelling) as well! Luckily they can understand each other without words...

Brian May com @brianmaycom Queen News August 2012: bit.ly/N3bEmz MUSICOLOGISTS DISCOVER WHY QUEEN'S 'WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS' Tops Sing-along Pub Songs Brian posts the most interesting things, and this item about "sing-along songs" is really interesting. In my religious tradition (Lutheran), many of our best hymns started as pub songs. They share some of the qualities mentioned here--fascinating!

I was talking over all of this AI stuff with my husband, who recently hasn't had much of a day go by without an Adam discussion, lol. My husband has been in the film industry for over 25 years, and so we deal with the roller coaster of the entertainment industry as a part of our lives. His immediate non-stan reaction: "If Adam doesn't get AI, he should feel happy that his name is being brought up and bandied about so early on in his career along side of other people who are huge. People thinking and talking about you leads to more people thinking and talking about you. It's all good." He added, "Most people would love to have a career as successful as his is right now." My sons, for example, are two of those kind of people. Adam keeps telling us this is only the beginning, and he seems to really feel that. I believe him and think he can figure out how to make the things he finds interesting and fun keep happening for himself. As long as he is having fun, I feel happy for him, and he is having fun, and clearly wants us to have fun right along with him, lol. Adam is uber talented, charismatic, smart and likeable. Everyone who works with him loves the experience... everyone! He has been in the business for a long time and knows how to make use of opportunities and how to move on from the ones that dont work out. I am patterning my stanning now after the manner it has worked best for me to stan my adult children, lol. I am putting aside my own agendas that life be perfect for them and am enjoying instead how perfect the moments of my life are when I am with them. That works much better for us both. And hey, those shared moments are so very, very sweet! Lynne -- I am very much with you on this. Adam has a very successful career in an EXTREMELY cutthroat business and I believe whatever is going on is all good. I'm just happy to be along for the ride--and I can't wait to see where it takes him (and us) next! By the way, how many of you think (with me) that Brian May is having dinner at Adam's house before leaving for England? I would bet they are getting together to plan further world domination, er, concerts together.

Actually, the race was this morning West Coast time and I found out the results of the race on Twitter hours ago. Thank you NBC -- uff-da!
