Atop Link: atop.proboards.com/post/89953/threadcommunity.livejournal.com/ontd_ai/1905356.htmlohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/38458487.htmlRolling Stone follows Adam Lambert and Kris Allen on the road for a day on August 7, 2009. www.mediabistro.com/portfolios/samples_files/1440311_m4oDh8YXP0_gl5YHMMsF4gtUh.pdf It’s noon, and Adam Lambert is on the floor of a van en route to Atlantic City, trying to nap. “I’m fucking exhausted,” says the American Idol runner-up, who rose at 5 a.m. to apply black eyeliner and slick his hair into a pompadour for a Good Morning America performance with Idol winner Kris Allen. “I’m gonna need a Red Bull tonight.” For the past month, Lambert has been performing almost nightly with American Idols Live, the 52-date, three - hour extravaganza starring this season’s top 10 contestants. Lambert performs an intense 20-minute set, which features a duet with Idol number four, Allison Iraheta, on Foghat’s “Slow Ride,” and a David Bowie medley of “Life on Mars? ” “Fame” and “Let’s Dance.” “I hope I pull it off tonight,” he says, seconds before hitting the stage in a faux-lizard-skin trench coat covered with spikes. Though Lambert came in second to Allen, he’s clearly the show’s star: When he kicks into Led Zeppelin’s “ Whole Lotta Love,” singing, “I’m gonna give you every inch of my love” and thrusting his pelvis, a group of cleavage-flashing cougars jump onto their chairs. When he rips off his coat during “Fame,” someone lobs a lacy pink bra onstage; Lambert picks it up and swings it like a lasso. “I love that the girls go nuts,” says the singer, who came out to Rolling Stone in June. “ When I’m getting nasty with the microphone stand, it doesn’t matter if I’m gay or straight–it’s just sexy and fun.” The other Idols are more family-friendly, though they try to mimic Lambert’s vibe(sometimes to comic effect): Anoop Desai swivels his hips while singing, “I see nothin’ wrong in spreading myself around,” during his gawky rendition of Bobby Brown’s “My Prerogative.” Allen, however, exudes clean-cut all-American charm during his covers of the Killers’ “All These Things That I’ve Done” and Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine.” “I’m putting a lot of pressure on myself to make this good,” he says before the show. “America is the most ADD country in the world – who knows if people will still like me next year? All the Idols feel like we have to prove that we belong in the music industry, that we’re not just the product of some TV show.” Pre-concert, the Idols shuffle to fan meet-and-greets, during which they sit behind a banquet table snacking on cheese cubes and chicken fingers – like some kind of Idol Last Supper–while moms snap photos of their kids getting autographs. There’s a bar with Coronas and wine in the room, but the singers can’t drink: “That’s what days off are for,” says the tour manager. “There’s a part of me that’s a little itchy to call my own shots,” Lambert says later. “I’m not a control freak, but I want to say,‘OK, I’m going to do this before a show.’ ” The opportunity is coming: The singer’s debut drops in November (so do LPs from Allen and Iraheta). “It’s music that makes you feel sexy, makes you dance,” says Lambert, who worked with Lady Gaga producer RedOne and Linda Perry. “I like anthems that say, ‘I’m a badass,’ ” he adds. “I’m not a big fan of feel-sorry-for yourself-type music. Right now, I’m getting everything I want.”

I've been listening to "Underground" nonstop.
Like everyone else I was hooked immediately.
My favorite place to sing is in the car, if possible with the window open and the volume cranked up past ridiculous.
This song is perfect for the freeway.

Yes, we all know he doesn't care about his range, he mentioned few times in some interview especially at the beginning of FYE promotion. He doesn't like or want to brag about it. But I think he knows or at least gets the idea about his range. Cavallo said that Adam can sing the lowest to the highest notes on his guitar. Not sure what kind of guitar he used that time, but I think to know that he probably got Adam to do it. And especially after working with Queen and singing their catalogue, it's possible that Brian mentioned it during the rehearsal even though not specifically. Didn't mean to sound like I was lecturing at you. Sorry. Yes, I am sure Adam knows very well how extraordinary his voice is. He hears what other musicians say about it. He hears what other singers are able to do, and not do. He works with vocal coaches/teachers and routinely warms up doing exercises and scales that take him to the top and bottom of his range. Along the way, folks had to say, "Damn, Adam! You just hit a soprano high C!" or "Adam, when you are clowning around, your voice sounds like a rich baritone or bass." He probably has sung along with many a soprano. I just think he has selective memory, and since the name of the notes or classification of his voice type are inconsequential to him, he doesn't retain it. IMHO. Kaye, Kimberly. "They Knew Him When: Broadway Stars Cheer On American Idol Hopeful Adam Lambert." Broadway.com March 13 2009. www.broadway.com/shows/wicked/buzz/5988/they-knew-him-when-broadway-stars-cheer-on-american-idol-hopeful-adam-lambert/atop.proboards.com/post/90953/threadALISAN PORTERPorter, known for playing Bebe in the Broadway revival of A Chorus Line, appeared alongside Lambert in The Ten Commandments. How did you meet?I was actually onstage. I was doing The Zodiac Show [in Los Angeles], and there was this guy in the audience screaming for me and making me feel amazing. Best audience member of all time! It happened to be Adam. We hit it off backstage after the show, and soon after that were both cast in The Ten Commandments. We’ve been the best of friends ever since then. Has he always been so stylish?I’ve never seen him with the same hair twice or without cutting edge style. He’s a chameleon. He can be or do anything. Favorite memory? I remember being backstage at the Kodak Theatre [during The Ten Commandments] and hearing his vocal warm-ups through the air conditioning vents. These loud screams would come through the vents and you’d know Adam was ready to go.Favorite performance? He and I do The Upright Cabaret, a local cabaret show, together a lot. Last time he did it he sang “How Come You Don’t Call Me,” the Prince song. People’s shoes were flying onstage they were so excited! Every time I see him I expect him to be brilliant and then he’s a million times better than in my head. Will he come to Broadway?I think that theater is where his roots are and isn’t necessarily something he’d turn down, but right now his focus is on music and should be. Sometimes you have to live your dreams, and American Idol is the ultimate dream, which is to be a rock star. And he is! Personal Song Request: “Dream On,” by Aerosmith. But he could sing the phonebook and it would be amazing.

Is the music video moving much faster now or is it my imagination? It isn't your imagination, but it is illusory. YT froze the view count, then dumped a bunch all at once. I've tried averaging the numbers, but the averages are meaningless. We could hit 1,500,000 views any minute or sometime tomorrow.
