Totally OT but had to share this with pattiehum ! I've been experiencing problems off/on lately on ATop using my iPad. I keep the tab open but it's been very frustrating, so I just check in and see what's going on. I have been spending more time than usual on Twitter (I don't tweet, I follow). For the past several weeks, EVERY time I click on the Twitter tab or hit Refresh, the first Tweet at the top of my screen is pattiehum's "I wonder what artist has the most live Youtubes?" LOL, at least 10-12 times a day I find myself reading that tweet over and over! Then it switches back to the most recent tweets. I have been waking up in the middle of the night with "Thunderbolts and Lightning! Very very frightening!" running thru my head for months and months. Now I can add "I wonder what artist has the most live Youtubes?" to my daytime chant! Thanks, pattiehum! Since it's a pattiehum question, I expect the answer is Adam Lambert. How or where do I find the answer, though? I've googled it on google and put the question in the search box on YouTube. I finally gave up and asked for the most viewed YT. JEEZE! Judges are just fine for me. They give some critique along with praise. I think it is really unwise for the show to have the contestants sing within 30 seconds of finding out they make the cut. The adrenalin is getting to a lot of them--pitch issues and extra breaths. They don't have time to settle in and be composed. I can't even imagine seasoned pros wanting to do that. I'd like to see Adam perform on both shows. Well the 2 hour shows started last night and there was plenty of time to compose themselves. I definitely expect Adam to be on to perform & even mentor A few of them are entertaining. I like the 2 girls with the weird voices (Jax and Joey Cook) and the dancing dude (Qaasim Middleton) that can't sing. Jax gets good reviews and might win, if the producers don't sabotage her. I liked her last week when Harry didn't. Joey Cook was better last night. Seems like Scott Borchetta favors the very boring Clark Beckham. Worth watching, if you record the show and watch with your finger on the fast forward button.

Reminds me of a few years ago when my 18-ish niece, who had taken a liking to Paul McCartney's latest single, knew about his years as leader with Wings but was astounded to learn that he'd been in a "moderately successful" little band prior to that. (And to top that, she had never heard of John Lennon or Freddie Mercury!) Too funny! But not just an issue for 18-ish people. Madamimadam did not know that the song Brian played in Liverpool was a Beatles song -- and tweeted asked the name of the English Folk Song Brian was playing. Madamimadam is a bit more than 18 years old. The Beatles have faded a bit in terms of recognition. I had a student who proudly "introduced" me to Deep Purple. Many of the students who work for me have a deep knowledge of music. Just on Spotify they have access to.... Number of songs: Over 30 million Number of songs added per day: Over 20,000 Number of playlists: Over 1.5 billion created so far I think everyone should know the Beatles -- but many people don't. But that music is 50 years old. It is the music their grandparents and great grandparents listened to. So makes sense to me. But I am impressed with how much the young adults I know, know about music -- going back to the 60's. They do not seem to have much interest in 1950's era music but do know classic blues. They are much more knowledgeable than I was when I was 18ish. Just a thought, madamimadam was incredibly busy during the concerts, tweeting and coordinating the the live streams. Then, she was busy collecting the recorded streams and YTs. I don't know when she asked that question, but I'd bet it was before she had a good listen to Brian. Starts with Brian speech. Mentions John, Paul, George, and Ringo. You've Got To Hide Your Love Away (Beatles song sing-a-long) Queen at the echo arena love of my life.cooper men www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7oxDo65-l4
