OMG, Eddie!!! He met Adam. There is something about that actor/character that gets to me. That smile, the things he says - not even Adam can resist that bear. LOL!

So... just read that Boy George will be mentoring on Idol for '80s night. Don't kill me because I don't mean it in a shady way but seeing Boy George's photo reminds of a thought I'm having recently: Sam Smith looks like Adam and George had a baby. He's not as fabulous as his parents but Sam is the cool offspring who's into the family business. LOL. I really need to go sleep.

Forgive this post as i am tired and will ramble. I usually scroll but just had to give a shout out to Idol.
I love American Idol and will continue to watch as long as it is being aired. It gave me Adam and a lot of other singers and winners. I cannot get into The Voice mostly because of the format. You see, for me, it's not all about the judges. I like to get invested in the singers and the Voice's format does not allow me to bond with the performers. The last time i tried watching was the Tessanne Chin "season." I avidly followed that series because most of my family and friends begged me to tune in for Tessanne. I enjoyed her and was glad she won but I was upset with the way the show did not promote her properly afterward.
That is my biggest peeve with that show. Their previously stated aim is (i'm paraphrasing) that they are for entertainment and not to promote winners into successful stars. That just not work for me. They also air too many shows: reminds me of the game show Who Wants to be a Millionaire. They rode that hit into the dust real quick when they aired that thing morning, noon and night!
So, too, does the Voice saturate the programming slate to its detriment (and other reality singing competitions'). Shortly after a Voice winner gets newly minted, goes on the show's tour and puts out an album, there is another "season" of the Voice running simultaneously. This takes away fans' focus from the previous winner at a critical time when they are building support for their new album. Which results in very dismal sales and/or lack of recognition outside of ardent fans.
So, for me, until the Voice produces a proven winner AND successful Star, it is an inferior product as compared to Idol. No amount of ratings, gimmick, star judges, coaches, chairs, etc. will make it a better vehicle for performers UNTIL they have minted a truly world-recognized star. IMHO.

As to the Joey/Adam MW issue, i agree with other posts that Joey's was good but lacked the poignancy of Adam's version. I love like that girl, though!

Lovely chatting with you tonight. I'm off to sleep now - it's 1:30am and I have work in the morning. ...If Thor's snow doesn't derail that plan. Btw, why the fuck do they name a weather system "Thor"? I would wreak havoc too if you give me a badass name. Just sayin

I have so many Adam songs I like more that NoBo!! I was happy to see Aftermath get 9% I was really sad to see Sleepwalker win. Really would have thought fans would have voted for a song he wrote! :( I voted for Trespassing because I figured it had a better chance than Aftermath. Gotta go back and read about this poll. Didn't realize it's so serious. Sorry your fave didn't win.

oh, ITA. That was a stream of consciousness comment. Nothing to do with polling, sorry to put a ripple in your favourite song post. I have so many Adam songs I like more that NoBo!! I was happy to see Aftermath get 9% Ooh, ooh. Remember when lots of folks didn't like Aftermath and I used post about loving it? I always went... in the Aftermaaaaath!! Then Adam performed it a few times and people began loving it. Same deal with NoBo. Had he prevailed and got to perform the winning ditty repeatedly, y'all would be begging him to sing NoBo. BEGGING!!!! LOL. If memory serves, I believe Adam said he could've done some things with NoBo if he had more time. (Kara needs to now pay me handsomely for defending her crappy song.) LOL

Yep. Lyrics are wack but I still like NoBo. LOL.
There's been many a big hit songs with bad lyrics. Shit, now all this talking about NoBo makes me wanna hear it.
You can go higher, you can go deeper....
I'm coming, Adam! [Scampers off to go listen Adam wailing on NoBo.]
LMAO

Sorry No Boundaries was a terrible song. The Mountains lol Simon was right. They should of choosen their own song in the final. They earnt it. LOL. I still like it, cheesy lyrics an' all. Love to hear Adam wailing about fjords, valleys, mountains, lakes, inlets, deltas and streams to achieve your impossible dreams. It would've been a hit I tell you!! LOL.
