Well, I don't post here often, but I just have to state that I am really disappointed at the nit-picking of Adam's performance, especially in the early posts tonight. I understand that so many people on this forum have seen Adam perform that song hundreds of times so y'all are holding him to a much higher standard. And everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I respect that. I am so proud of him, he was gorgeous, seemed relaxed to me, really, really delivering lyrics that mean the world to him, and the vocals, as ever, superb. Wonderful performance, it was plain to see that he was so excited to get that message out. So happy for him. ..and I'm disappointed in members who nitpick the nitpickers. Everything is said in love on this forum, but I'm getting sick of being admonished everyTIME I might not gush about everyTHING. Have a lovely night everybody! Sweet Adam dreams! Nooooo... come back, duberville.

I loved this line summing up Adam's interaction with the contestants and S. Tyler:

Aftermath has always been *my song*. Just ask hoopla1, she'll tell you...lol!! I love every version of it!! Yep, even on FYE!! And, I always will. I'm one of the few that loved it from the beginning. The words just spoke to me. I am forever grateful that those 4 wrote this wonderful song. It will be in my heart forever!!! I can attest to that, glittergma. I remember us saying that we loved it in PF chat. Lyrics got me from the start. So glad to see it getting its due. I'm also happy the song has been tweaked to better show it off. 'Cuz there are valid points to idea that the original is a little 'gilded.' The variations will draw more people in - I'm all for it. I love it in all its striations. Win-win. Edited

are we back in our happy place now? I hope so because we probably won't see Adam on tv again for awhile and I think we should roll around in the glittery moment Yep. Kept your spot warm for you. Now I'm off.

Stop w/the James is taller... Did we think Adam was the tallest singer ? I haven't caught up, so not sure why it's such a problem unless ... never mind, only funny to me Not a problem in the least; tongue was firmly planted in cheek. Hence the smileys. That was my "pearl clutching" - obviously I'm failing at the sardonic humor. :-/

Okay. I'm the one that was talking about the AMA's and how I read everyone's trainwreck comments. That was for the AMA's sorry I wasn't clear (a couple of people caught it). I didn't realize I didn't have a key for work tonight (boring story) so I had to leave all of a sudden with the last person. Didn't mean to drop a bomb and exit. :-/ I just got home and caught up. I think if you put yourself in the position of us west coasters that are waiting to watch (no stream - visual or sound) the comments were sounding pretty negative. Bad notes, raspy voice, bad sound, back up band not adding anything, a stoic Stephen Tyler and JLo, a husband and a son walking through and dissing the song etc. I didn't think "train wreck" but just maybe that he didn't gain any new fans especially since it didn't sound like he made it clear that this is a song for charity and he's not releasing it as a single from his album. The more recent pages....much more positive. I feel better. Sorry to seem fatalistic. I'm better now. I'm having a glass of wine and waiting to watch GNAFL. ILHSFM : I'm on the West Coast and didn't hear a single one of those comments. Then again, I watched the stream, but I follow 700 people and not a one was saying that. (Well, one person said, "Does he have a cold?") I ignored her. I heard flawless, beautiful, amazing, breathtaking. I saw a tweet from Billboard.com right afterwards saying it was tender yet charismatic.

I have been liking James D these last 2 songs - especially last night's number. But.... I don't want him to be taller than Adam. NOW I have a reason to not like James. LOL I keed, I keed. #givethekidabreak (but no more standing next to AFL. Okay, James? Thanks.) : It's okay if James is taller, because Adam is 1000 times better looking than him! The gods blessed Adam in the looks department- He is one beautiful man! Alright, then. I'm liking James again. ;D But srsly, how GORGEOUS was Adam?!

missnisha6849 Tanisia Greer Nigel is a surprisingly hands-on executive producer. He was on the floor constantly, talking with the judges and directing staff. 1 minute ago citygirl36 Nadine Yes James taller. Was surprised. Thought James was on riser or something, but Adam stepped away & saw they were on level ground. 2 minutes ago Stop w/the James is taller...
