Ok, so I put the effort in to make a reasonable translation of the WDR report, given that the google one is marginal, and at times quite unclear. I posted that in the Cologne thread and made a cross-reference in today's daily thread and concert thread about it. I come back in the evening, my cross-reference in here is gone, and instead people are copying into this thread, multiple times over, that lousy google translate, probably because they don't know of any other translation. Well thanks guys, I feel really appreciated, and yes I can take a hint. And to that somebody, whoever is is, that deleted my work, please find yourself something more constructive to do with your time. I see that the reference in the Amsterdam thread is still there. Probably you have not found that one yet. It is not fun doing translations, I don't need to do them, I can certainly find myself better things to do with my time. But when they come in from other countries where I do not speak the language, I surely appreciate them. So, I thought people might like the German ones, too. But you prefer google-goble instead. Great, good to know. Have a good night. For those who are interested, you find my still remaining Cologne work in the end of that thread. ================================= Oh, and btw. 'androgyn' means having both male (andropos) and female (gynaika) characteristics. It does not mean 'fem' male, at all, neither in Greek nor in German. Adam is very quintessential 'androgynous', in the classic sense of that word. I realize from past discussions, that in American English the meaning must have shifted quite a bit, and many people now don't understand why Adam would be called that, but it is completely normal, appropriate and not at all negative to use that term in German for Adam. Now, a few other terms in other reviews I read today, were used and I did not like to read them, but not in that WDR article, and not the word androgynous. That article is totally fine. Putting on my mod hat for a moment.
WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA
I understand that you put a lot of work into your translation. I am an interpreter and an interpreter trainer by profession. But, why do you think somebody intentionally deleted your work on the thread? Why would anyone WANT to do that? We cherish our members who translate foreign articles for us.
The only members of this forum who have the ability to delete items from the threads are mods. We think long and hard when we delete something, and only do it if it is 1) totally off topic or 2) violating the rules of the forum. When we delete a member's post we either make note of it on the thread itself, or at least PM the author with an explanation. If something you posted is gone without explanation, it is 99.99% probable that it is due to some gremlin in the proboards programming or the internet. It is NOT a result of the actions of any member of this board.
Hopefully you have calmed down and can join us in our joyous celebration of the most recent concert. And thanks for the translation.

Craazyforadam when I clicked on your translation, one of them went into a strange abyss of a place. so... I would guess a board error? Love you for all your passion and dedication to Adam!

Wow! This guy gets, I think, that Adam was ahead of the game and Pharrell and Nile reaped funk rock rewards the following year. Trespassing should be revisited and appreciated for being good and innovated music. Billboard, of course, didn't mention that RCA did almost nada promotion of this album. Adam had to tread the radio station circuit without the help of some album advertising in magazines and on line sites. The fans had to spread the word and RCA would tweet, if anything, late after fans practically hit them over the head with information. Well...that's my take on it but I could be way off base. But that's how I feel about F*&^K@#% RCA. I'll now. Happy to see this Billboard guy gets it!

There was an RCA person with him for most if not all of the stops I believe.

For those who are interested, you find my still remaining Cologne work in the end of that thread. ================================= Oh, and btw. I did see your translation on this thread this morning and appreciate the effort you put into it. It is wonderful that people who speak other languages are a part of Adamtopia and are willing to share their skills. I also found your other translation of the senior and junior reporters conversation very interesting. It can be difficult to stick to your own opinion when someone senior is telling you what to think. Adam still has a lot of prejudice to overcome. I also agree about Adam's androgyny -- I mentioned that in an earlier post today too.

TP is a brilliant album... perhaps there is some hope for retroactive revival...may be if TOH is successful! I agree. I really hope that might happen. I remember when Adele's second album came out and was so successful, her first album also sold well again.

"An androgynous appearance"..... really? REALLY? In those black or gold pants that were so tight they looked painted on? With bulges in all the right places? With leather and studs and pelvic twirls and thrusts aimed at his bitches? He has different personas for the different costume changes, but I don't know that during any of them I watch and think his sexuality is ambiguous or lacking. But it is a great review. "An androgynous appearance" is a lot better than the reviewer in the UK who described the copper outfit as "Adam came out dressed like Avril Levine." That seems to be the silliest description so far to me.
